The South Africa, Cape Town municipality will have a bylaw in effect by December 2008 that will violate the rights of dogs and cats, and violate the constitutional rights of pet owners.

Thank you to everyone at Care2 helping me to spread my petition. The lives of two of my cats are at stake here, so are the lives of many pets sheltered by voluntarily foster private caregivers. I shudder to think what will happen if this proposed bylaw is not stopped. I for one will fight to death anyone who attempts to remove my pets. This reminds me of the film, Africa Adieu, where the Kenyan Mau Mau's slaughtered animals in their thousands, for the sheer hell of it. They used spears, now the mayor of Cape Town proposes to use the law, at gunpoint to force the death of beloved pets. Again, thank you to all. God bless from South Africa.
