What are the specifics here? Are we talking strictly animal cruelty? If I hit a deer with my car and it dies, do I get life in prison? What if I go fishing and kill a fish? What about mice caught in my mousetrap? If I put down my horse because it breaks a leg? Or are we talking atrocious cases of torture or neglect which result in death? Don't we have enough prison overcrowding already?
