What kind of mentality do these "defenders of the people" have ? The lady is not the enemy ! The other protesters are not the enemy ! Funny that the ones they protect are the real enemy.

We now know how our local governments select the enforcement officers. Who can bully the most people without getting caught? as the interview question.

Why am I not surprised? I'm not and Broward County has the most dangerous police force in the US. They care less who they harm or detain. The police were way out of line, but were acting with the authority that Bush gave every police dept. across the country when he signed by executive order making it illegal to protest the Iraq war. The mayor of Miami should be put up against a wall and shot with rubber bullets for not stopping the police from over reacting.

People who are going to protest the war need to be prepared and protect themselves. They can do this very easily by wearing heavy leather clothing, helmets with shields, ie, motorcycle helmets to protect their faces, and carry sheilds similar to what the police use during a situation of this type. This will send the police a message that they will not be able to shoot with rubber bullets or use pepper spray, as the protesters will be protected from such unwarranted attacks by out of control police violence against those who are protesting legally under the First Amendment of our Constitution. Freedom of peaceful assembly.

It pisses me off when I see videos like this one, and no one is held accountable, and the asshole cop who thought it was hilarious that someone got shot on the forehead with a rubber bullet.

Several years ago in Boston the police opened fire with paintball type weapons and a young woman was killed during the attack by police. She was an innocent bystander who was not even in the protest. No charges have ever been filed in that case either, and no one will say who fired the fatal shot. The story was carried on my local news station. I was horrified at the death of an innocent person by the Boston police dept. We may like to believe we are not living in a police state, but this is simply not TRUE anymore. We are living in a police state, however these isolated incidents leave us with a false sense of security.

We have 16 months remmaining with the Bush Administration, and even this is too long a time for he can still cause much harm to our Constitution, rule of law, and our civil liberties.

I received an e-mail from Senator Carl Levin to let me know that the Senate stood up to the Bush bullying tactics, and have passed a bil to eliminate torture. He also said that he has heard rumors that Bush is going to veto the bill because he wants to give the mlitary authority to torture detainees. Maybe one day someone will torture him??? General David Patraeus has said that torture should be authorized to get information about our enemies. I hope the Iraqis capture him and torture him to get information about their enemies!!!

Police are hired by the rich to oppress the poor. How many poor people get police protection? Live in a beautiful house, just call 911. A pig is a pig and all cops are pigs unless they refuse orders to deploy!

Wow, another clear example of American human/civil , 2nd amendment rights violation! Simply disgusting!
One more clear example of our country moving closer and closer to a police state.Completely unacceptable!

The issue at hand should be the issuance of authority over the next living form, the country has come to rely greatly on it's competitive nature due to the system that governs it, hasn't it been noted that everything is being privatized.
This sense and thirst for more has it's roots imbeded deeply in society and everything that is basically acceptable in society somehow promotes this cycle.
Why I was elated when I came across this network of concerned people seeking change at different levels with different issues, indeed a better world is possible and that faith must stay immensely strong-especially amongst ourselves already bringing about much needed change.

Noted and thanks for posting this.
Well I guess this will get swept under the rug as most violent acts made by the police on civilians are not to mention the violations of our civil rights .

glad to see the gangs in Miami have become organized and are known as the Miami Dade Police dept. These guys are scumbags. I wonder what they would think if it was their wife or family member shot. I bet that would have been Hilarious. "Hey Did you see Larry shoot my wife, that was funny"

Noted! Did anyone notice how these policemen were dressed. They looked like "storm troopers" going into battle with innocent civilians and then having the bad taste to laugh about shooting a woman in the face. What a disgusting display of police brutality. Our civil rights have been trampled on long enough. Freedom of speech? Right to Assemble? Where have these gone and why. The Bush Bunch has destroyed this country and with McCain you are just going to get a rubber stamp of the Bush Bunch's policies. Now that should scare anybody.
