Murder in My Town-Bandit's Pathetic Justice

Animals  (tags: AnimalCruelty, Court case, puppy, punishment, beaten )

- 2671 days ago -
This is my last news on puppy Bandit, murdered New Years Day at the age of 3 months old. I'm furious at Connor's excuse, and even more furious about the wimpy outcome! The details are a little graphic if you want to skip ahead. Thanks all for signing!!!!!

"Quantz said such cases of psychosis stemming from steroids are rare..."
B.S.!!!! Where does Quantz get his data?!
i can assure you they're not!!
Before becoming chronically ill 5 years ago i studied human anatomy/physiology & worked in gyms as a personal trainer/dietician.
EVERYONE, whether female or male that took steroids had hiddeous ANGER & underlying self-esteem issues!
This meat-head WILL detonate again, he's a walking time-bomb!
Will he be entrused with another animal or child when it happens again?!?!
Pftttt the law is crap!

Nothing to do with him! Totally innocent! What a bunch of BULL! Nothing but justification for his actions! Oh! the poor baby we all have to pity him lack of self esteem! 45 days what a horrid joke! He needs to be locked up for life as another innocent little one is just in the waiting to happen all over again! These monster/killers are not curable! And next time may be a child! SICK, SICK, SICK! Our judicial system is totally broken for the victims of crime! The criminals are rewarded. This is how they keep money flowing into their pockets. EVIL all around! Thanks Kim for the very sad update!

ths kim- noted & feel thje saame for the morons in the jury that let the admitted peacock killer walk! she testifies that yes, she beat it(to death) with a baseball bat as it was noisy & messy - she never showed any remorse.
here's part of th3 article "A juror, who heard the comment on television Friday evening, said the comment was "out of line." The juror said members of the jury agreed the bird was a pest. He said the jury concluded she did not beat the bird, because they believed the word beat meant hitting it multiple times. He said if the charge against her had been worded "hit or strike" they would have convicted her." ( )
as i posted first time out on this - semantics let that peacock killer walk!
and the woman said in another article, when asked where she was going, she exclaimed " i'm going to disney world & eat peacock souffle' !
i egt so angry with these "people"; those on trial as well as these judges & juries that find \any excuse to not sentence any animal abuser to any serious jail/prison time!

Thank you for posting, Kim, and caring so much. I am so so sorry. Sometimes, when I read these atrocities, the anger isn't there, just overwhelming sadness...we do not value other species, and neither do we really value each other....look at this sad and violent world. Heartbreaking.

A case of 'Dirty deals done dirt cheap!!!'

He's getting 45 days but he's already served 30
so he's virtally getting nothing!!!

"He will be sentenced on Feb 2."

I agree with Sioux on this one... I don't know where Quantz got his information about steroid psychosis, but he's way out in left field with that comment. To say someone should beat this psychotic to death will only lower the person to his level and that's the last thing we need... but, I do believe the slap on the wrist he's receiving for beating this puppy to death is ridiculous. Come on now, that puppy's life was only worth a couple-three months in jail? Gimme a break!

After reading this, I had to sit quietly to contain my billions of rambling thoughts, because I knew that if i vocalized what instantly came to my mind, I would be banned. To start off, I would like to know why anyone at the hotel, didn't do anything while waiting for the police. But no ~ men and women sit by and let themselves see and hear these atrocities against animals and people because they don't want to get involved. These types have to stop worrying about what will happen to them if they step in. As soon as I knew what was going on, I would've kicked the door to the guy's room in! Then the guy could have attempted to take out his anger on me. It would have failed, but he could have made a good effort. Anger in combat is no good, as it makes you lose control over your own basic actions. And while these drugs absolutely increase violent thoughts and biological changes as Sioux has stated so perfectly, I do not feel that they can override one's heart condition. This man made an evil and Satanic decision, based on his spiritual condition. If I took steriods, it would never make me kill a puppy. And boo hoo hoo, this guy this and this guy that, and oh he's already served hard time. BS! I know a way to rectify the whole situation easily and without spending another dime. You give him to ME and Andrea's International Court of Justice. I'll leave it to your imagination as to how things work around there! Congrats Kim on your 3rd story. I'm just sorry it had to be under these circumstances.

Fear mostly likely kept anyone from kicking in the door to help as most anyone can assume that the person doing this to any animal might and or probably does also have a weapon..gun especially so the danger for all would be greater if they did try to enter the room and he shot people as well as killing the dog. Not taking up for anyone, just trying to reason why in this case...hotel..behind closed door...others may have know he used steroids and already had a reputation for being a whack job and violent...all factors for caution. Focus needs to stay on this monster and his use of steroids and seeing to it that he nevers has a pet again...not of any kind. Let him just straight on to people with his anger and then maybe someone will kick his ass good and proper. "Within an inch of his life'' as the saying goes.

I'm surrounded by people who couldn't care less about what I do on "my site" and think I'm a wingnut. But you guys all know different!!! That's the point of having friends. We help each other, listen and understand!! You guys are the VERY BEST kind of friends to have!!! We go through atrocities, horror, funny, good, bad and sad that the average joes couldn't take or stomach! We are all some of the toughest cookies you could ever meet. No doubt the prison population will welcome this person however it does not bring Bandit back or deal with the underlying issues that lead to such aggressive stupidity. Much violence in society is triggered by low esteem whether it is the individual concerned or the comunity they live in! Until society takes responsibility for it's shortcomings locking offenders up is only going to be a stop gap for these mental aberations. Unfortunately there propensity for reoffending is not diminished by incarceration unless they are properly treated with therapy and rehab and of course none of that can be guaranteed. However doing nothing will guarantee no improvement and the contagion effect is likely to endorse their future criminality!

Elsie Au (259)
Thursday January 27, 2011, 3:08 am
I don't care whether he really has steroid psychosis or not. Nobody forced him to take all those steroids. He has to be responsible for his action. Low self esteem....give me a break. Lots of people having that but they don't go out and kill animal. It always makes me mad to see people blaming everything else when they did something wrong. We have too many of this kind of people and that's one of the reasons why the human society is having lots of trouble. I am with you, Kim, many people around me don't understand why I am so pissed off about animal abuse. They even make fun of me quite a few times. So I am glad to know that there are people like your guys out there. Thanks for doing what you are doing.

Charmaine C (177)

Typical! Protect the criminals and the crimes and sacrifice the innocents!

Heaven forbid we have to take responsibility for our actions! Today's watchwords? Do what ever the hell you want, just don't get caught and if you do.....whine, whine, whine about how hard your life has been.

Cdn. 'justice' has become a total joke! First, he gets no punishment even for breaching "recognizance" (so why even impose any conditions if they carry no weight anyway?). He had steroids in possession, drug trade score sheets, the article said (or someone just ASSUMED) "MOST" of the time he'd treated Bandit with care (what does that even MEAN?, "most," and as if that really COUNTS after killing someone in your 'care'!), family members themselves wanted a lengthy sentence (except for ONE former COP), they even admitted "the crime stemmed IN PART" (only) from drug use, the judge admits psychosis is RARE from steroids, yet there's NO psych. report ordered to PROVE that's even applicable here, and of course he committed BRUTAL & TORTUROUS MURDER upon a living being. (I note the press used the demeaning term "IT" for Bandit - way to recognize a living being, you stupid fools!)

Exactly what DOES it take in order for someone to have the full and REAL weight of the law/justice be applied then?!?! It's OBVIOUS the judge got paid off, or owed this guy's father something. I'm infuriated & revolted by Cdn. courts' sentencing nowadays; often now even WORSE than American ones! (and know of other, heinous and even tax-payer-COSTLY Cdn. cases where a "slap on the wrist" is the only 'justice' meted out) If they don't WANT vigilante-ism to be created, then STOP THE BS SENTENCING & LACK OF ACCOUNTABILITY/RESPONSIBILITY on ANYONE'S part, period!

I see 2 people called the police...but as already noted, they sat & waited and did NOTHING to intervene. And if they'd told police it was ANIMAL screaming they'd heard, I'll bet the cops TOOK THEIR SWEET TIME even getting there! Where was the hotel MANAGER all this time? What about hotel Security? Good gawd, have Cdn's become THIS apathetic now?! Why didn't someone trigger the FIRE alarm, grab the extinguisher, break down his door and blast him with it, so that this poor pup would maybe have had a chance at survival?! They should ALSO be looking into this "acquaintance's" background, to see if he has any MORE animals he'd leave in such a whacko's 'care'! And were I said acquaintance, I'D be clamoring for more appropriate justice, too!...yet no mention is made of this character's reaction or whereabouts.

Another Cdn. judge that needs a ruddy HEAD transplant! What a SICKENING world this has become. We need not just a petition, but a CONTINUING protest at that courthouse - one that makes the news nationally, so that the court system sees we've reached the ends of OUR ropes with this unending BS they hand out! Where's a Clayton Ruby for the ANIMALS when you need one? In fact, Kim, maybe the animal groups there should consider hiring one Lois Salmond from Vancouver, "an experienced trial and appeals lawyer" who does "animal law representation" and "has long been a passionate advocate for "those who cannot speak for themselves", such as animals in distress." See her website here:

Failing her, maybe she knows of another animal-friendly lawyer right on The Island who'd be wiling to appeal this ruling and perhaps set a new, more meaningful Cdn. PRECEDENT for animal abuse & murder cases? There HAS to be a will and a way to SEE JUSTICE SERVED for poor, little Bandit!!!

Thursday January 27, 2011, 7:21 am
Has anyone thought to tell the RESCUE INK Guy who just loves Pit Bulls to death, about this Despicable case ??
I'm sure the INK guys would like a word or two with this piece of crap!
A 3 mth old puppy for Goodness sake!!! That's only 12 wks old. At 8 wks, he would have just been leaving his mum & siblings after finishing being weaned.!!!
Oh what a tough guy you are CONNOR!!! Course, you are the only person who thinks so, correction, there is one other: your no good, Bribe paying, Sperm Donor of an old man.!!!
The pair of you need to be locked up in a yard full of watch dogs & I pick, Shepherds, Rotty's & (your fav. Connor), Pits, to be on duty at that time!!!

This case is a vivid example of why so many Canadians, and British Columbians, are fed up with judges and their lenient sentences. Animal abuse is often indicitive of serious pyschotic problems, yet the judge in this case decided against a pre-sentence report with a pschiatric component. Why? And why should this judge be able to do this? Some of Quantz's (the perpetrator) family members even signed a petition for a lengthier sentence. They are probably afraid of him too. It should make us all in B..C. sleep so much better knowing that this type of person gets off very lightly for such terrible animal abuse, and will be walking the streets to commit who knows what terrible crimes next. Something needs to be done about our lenient sentencing in B.C. and Canada. And about mental health issues and how people with violent mental issues are NOT being treated. A sickening result for a horrible crime against a defenseless animal.

There is not justification for this type of cruelty! He should feel alone.

Thanks for the update Kim, let's hope that when he is finally sentenced, that they take no notice of Allen, he is clearly deluded and has no sense of decency for supporting and trying to get a shorter sentence for this creep, I don't care whether that is his job, he should have refused the case!

What a horrible way for any living creature to die. Honestly, do you think it's safer to have someone like that in society compared to so-called dangerous pitbulls (and no, I do believe they are dangerous)? What at tragic case. A young man stoned on steroids and vodka beating a young puppy to death because he supposedly had low self-esteem and wanted to 'build himself up'!!! The sentence was not long enough and I pray that some kind of intervention is done barring him from steroid use and that he undergoes rehabilitation as well.

The challenges of being on Care2 - messages going nowhere, comments lost, having to sign in again, pages 'done with errors on page'. Maybe just as well, now I've already vented the worst of my feelings on this matter! Compulsory minimum sentences should be in place for all animal abusers (that will eliminate 'daddys' and 'judges' using their 'weight') without ANY options and they should work to pay for their own 'keep'. This piece of filth - shame, on steriods/whatever - it was his CHOICE, Bandit had NO options! We should get animal licences (like driver's licences) where each and every person MUST first pass stringest tests before being issued a license and having the privilege of being in the company of any animal, whether as owner or temporary carer. Glad to note other Care2 members 'sharing the same situation' with people around you not interested or understanding why you're 'spending/wasting your time' clicking away! God gave this so-called 'man' life and I'll bet my life on it, he will have to answer about what he's doing with it - get 'real' or get off our planet, we've more than enough 'human filth' around us!
