BEIJING - China's milk crisis apparently has spread to animals, with a lion cub, two baby orangutans and two adult gorillas developing kidney stones at zoos in China.

i don't believe in wild animals being caged, on display, relying solely on humans. preservations with roaming habitat i understand in trying to save certain species. but as we see here - zoo animals are subjected to evil human doings as well as their spectators and iron bars.

It just makes me sick that we have become so dependent on Chinese imports. Now it isn't just exported goods that they fill with their poison; they're even poisoning their own babies! And how doubly horrible to do it to vulnerable animal babies! I agree with you, Mae, I have never been a huge fan of caged animals, or displayed animals. Some species have to be raised to avoid extinction (which, of course, we're responsible for), but animals need to have a decent habitat. The Chinese don't even believe in human rights, so animal rights wouldn't be big with them, either. Thanks, Mae.

Gee, this doesn't surprise me one bit that it's in China...however this does happen in the US as well, we just don't know about it. I think it's a sickening thought to harm any of God's creatures. I do not believe in using animals for entertainment purposes at all. Circuses, arenas, bullfights, cockfights, dogfights, and yes even in our zoos. This is a big no no to allow humans to put their hands on our innocent animals for their soul purpose, matter what the consquences.

Animals feel pain, just as humans do. I wish that the so called people doing these things could feel the animals pain just for a moment, and perhaps it would change things around a bit.

Thanks for the forward, Charles M. and TY Mae for this article of utter importance, totally noted.

Thanks Mae, noted with deeply sadness. What more we have to listen about China?
