Raise my taxes, says millionaire Chuck Collins. The scion of the Oscar Mayer family supports a House panel's healthcare plan that would boost taxes for families earning more than $350,000 ayear. He also advocates ending the Bush tax cuts for the rich

"Money is like manure. You have to spread it around or it smells."
J. Paul Getty

Just found that quote on brainyquote.com

You know they hit at all ends. While this may seem a good thing I dunno. I am getting really fed up with them all.
I still vote for the Fairtax. It is the ONLY tax system that is fair. Pay only on what you buy new.
No more April 15th and the IRS.

Good quote, Nancy. And good people are still among the wealthy. It's an honorable and decent thing to do.

Sue- I like the Fairtax too and encourage everyone to check it out at fairtax.org. In the short term though, Chuck Collins has the right idea, IMO.

I question the motives of begging to be taxed. Any sane man would grimace at the thought of giving their hard earned buck away to an entity and not the people. When we have those who would love to see the rich fall flat on their faces it makes me wonder what exactly side these people are on. The gesture is good, but, to pay for others, makes them criminals with a sever lack of responsibility. Not a good basis for a well balanced society.

I understand your questioning. But there really are some good people in the world. I may be genuine.

One thing would be to look at his business practices. Do his people all have benefits. Does he hire full-time or is he one who hires people for only 30 hrs, et.c

Or, it could be selfishness to realize that his businees may not keep doing well unless our country's economy get more stable.

Oh, definitely Nancy, there are many good people in this world. More than not I would say. It is just a matter of knowing who has good intentions and who does not. We have been fooled too many times. One would Say Oprah is a good person and yet stands behind closed doors with George Saros under the pretense of handling world hunger.

The brutal truth about America's healthcare vs Stephen Hawking, who said, "I wouldn't be here today if it were not for the NHS. I have received a large amount of high-quality treatment without which I would not have survived.." And a student who suddenly found himself unable to move and had to be supported by his wife would not have been able to get that sort of care in the United States at all, let alone be kept alive and allowed the time to think that made it possible for him to become *the* Stephen Hawking.
