Signed #454 - this is outrageous - one airplane goes down into the Hudson River and no one was hurt and they decide to exterminate all the geese in the area. Don't they realize what they're doing to our ecosystem? The irony of this in that airplanes are designed pertaining to the dynamics of birds. Geez talk about being ungrateful. Thanks Alison - I'll climb down off my soapbox now.

These geese killers will one day be held accountable for their heinous actions. I won't let it go, this is cruel and unusual treatment of an innocent bird being itself. Thanks for sharing.

Indeed an outrage! Thanks Alison, noted, signed. I'm curious too if any crowd will meet up in NYC but my guess is it won't be Care2 members.

I only found out about this yesterday and posted it immediately, hoping that there may be some Care2 members in the area, who didn't know about it and wanted to attend.

I too am curious Angelika as to whether anyone went to this protest, or knows whether it was a success or not.

FYI: I received this info from Love Animals Too

The second protest is coming up on August 12th -- noon. For more details you can go to the facebook page, "for the love of Prospect park Geese..."

This is the second rally planned now: Thurs. Aug. 12 at noon at City Hall.
Join us as we DEMAND humane treatment by the Gov't and the "stewards" who are supposed to "protect" these animals!!!

Pass this information far and wide. We need your support now!
Thanks Love Animals Too

Did anyone see the special on the National Geographic Channel called, "And Man Created Dog?" There was a portion of it discussing the use of herding dogs used to keep the geese away from airports and other high air traffic areas. The dogs are trained to chase not harm the birds and the number of air strikes involving birds vs. any air craft has reduced significantly.
There is never any excuse that can justify trying to obliterate wildlife every time there is a conflict with human interests!!!!!!
