Right now, the American dream is endangered. America has become, Citibank analysts wrote, a "plutonomy," made of the rich and the rest - and only the rich count. Washington is about to find out that we are not going to give up the dream without a fight.

Now, right NOW is the time for the Spartacus heart and lust for freedom to rise up again in America. To retake our birthright and the freedoms our fathers and forefathers have shed their blood, being sent to the slaughtered for profits, believing we would forever be blessed with. The oligarchy the plutocracy would see them all striped away from us and our children for no reason other then to serve their greed driven psychopathic plunder of the mother and serfdom of everyone to their ends. Stand up, grow some balls, and be counted among the 99% speaking for justice and humanity. Before fascism overwhelms and destroys all we love. Freedom is NOT free, it's earned with blood, sweat and guts every day in every thing we say and do. Get the f--- in the streets and yell loud, "I'm mad as hell and change is gona come or else we're coming for ya'll, in your bunkers."

One of the major problems is that most of the TEApartiers are middle class. Their blindness is what is pushing the coporofacist rich. The TEAs are literally "shooting themselves in the foot." They are backing those who wish to take everything from them and turn the entire middle class into serfs.

It makes you wonder just how the US allowed this to happen. The people of America used to be politicized and vocal in government. When did they become doormats? And, more importantly, WHY???

The movement. The uprising. This train will not return as they as in my country. It appears to be gaining momentum with every moment. This time there will be support from all over the world for such a movement no matter where it is staged. In the past there were uprisings now and again triggered by events that hurt the people. But most were short lived. The young demonstrators then grew up and walked into the rat race perhaps without realising that they had forfeited their dreams and convicted future generations to a world with no peace. What each and every one of us does counts and adds to the strength of the movement. This time its going to go all the way and will not stop till we have the life of peace and dignity we dream of. Till our society is is built on a foundation of compassion for humans and for animals. Till there is the utmost respect for our planet, and if anyone suggests war, we are not buying into that anymore because its in the past and that's where it will stay so children can learn from it and avoid aggression at all costs for ever. IWe dream of the whole world joining the movement and creating change. Faith and courage will win. This is the voice of the people. We are awakened and united.

Do I remember correclty? What was the story about John Lennon? A crazy man killed him? Yeah right! Maybe the crazy guy was one of the victims of mind control.. John Lennon was killed because he has a great following to his great philosophy. What on earth did he think he was doing singing about peace? What were those songs? All we are saying, is give peace a chance." Or the other one, Imagine there;s no country....." Where did John get such outrageous ideas? People like him and many others have placed bricks in the foundations of peace. Let the rest of us finish the job.

Noted. It's incredible there's been 700 arrests but only slight attention, until now, from the main stream media. I guess we have to make even more noise to get the proper attention this movement needs from those in power ( yes, that would be Washington and the current administration!).

People everywhere are finally waking up. We can do this very peacefully, very decisively and completely take America back to become a democracy.
Calliope, John Lennon, Gandhi, MLKing, and Jesus had the right idea, and we can easily discern that their message of peace and compassion are the only way and are the most powerful non-weapon against this tyranny----as long as we unite and leave our egos behind.

The American middle class and working poor need Congress to pass an Economic Bill of Rights. Hopefully, the occupation of Wall Street will evolve into a series of nationwide protests and work stoppages that will lead to economic and social justice for all American workers.

William Y. is exactly right. The Tbaggers, paid for by the Cock...I mean Koch brothers, are just lost in ignorance and are not the enemy. They need to be embraced, educated, and maybe then at least some will turn around and walk with us. Perhaps we need to approach things differently to get them to listen. Remember, they latched onto the Tbag revolution from the base emotion of fear. We can show them plenty of real stuff to fear.

Anonymous needs to shut FOX down.

You want to 'save the American dream', scrap all the Liberal extremists and their crummy socialist government ideas - and kick out all the extremist theocrats and feudalists from the right. Only the third parties and the moderates should be retained, as the rest don't represent anything but their own pockets.

Heidi R. says, "It makes you wonder just how the US allowed this to happen."
Three words, arrogance, complacency & apathy

Americans have become pompous, our way or the highway.
Americans don't want to "rock the boat."
and Americans no longer care about themselves. let someone else do the thinking., which accounts for the US being way down on the list of its citizens literacy in Math, Geography, History, Science & Civics.

I am in DC now!!! The movement is strong!! People from all over the world are saying Americans ... do not to quit ... saying that WE are the last hope for the world's people to have hope of freedom. Thanks Michael for sharing this, Bless all the people that are protesting to take our country back, Sometimes you have to get out and protest against all the coporofacist rich that are buying our country, And for all the injustice in this country that is going on, Give them hell protesters, We did the same thing about the Vietnam War and the Civil Rights Movement, nothing will change unless you fight for it.

I'm becoming proud of America again. This is so wonderful to see US wake up to what is going on. Even tea-baggers that have been mislead by big corporations like Fox, Rush, and all tht right wing stuff are seeing the light. Everyone who commented here deserves a star. Now it's timportant to support those who are actually doing things to make the change for positive again.

I can't help financially, nor physically as I'm mostly stuck at home, but my spirit and all that I do on the internet relfrects my feelings. And I'm feeling great right now. I am so proud to see the "younger" generation open their eyes and DO SOMETHING. I was a child of the 60's and was in the protests at that time. It's their time now. I just wish I could join them.

Noted! There are protests planned all over this country! Wall Street is just the beginning. This is the forgotten 99% of the people that the republicans have chosen to ignore. Well this is their wake-up call that is if they aren't too self centered and hell bent on their one mission...making President Obama a one term president. To say that their priorities have been messed up is an understatement. Be sure to step in when a protest comes to your part of the country.....I know I will be there!

It's the Tea Party's greed to steal from fellow economic classmen, to put extra cash into their own pockets, because they're wannabe rich people who didn't quite make it. Because the economy is failing, and they are too lazy to bring in more work, they want to steal it from the pockets of hard working middle & working class people.

The snowball is rolling downhill and gathering steam! OWS is a reality that will change things forever --- for the better. The Americans are taking back their dream. And it is catching on elsewhere. There are organising meetings in Toronto and Vancouver next week I believe, to organise Canadians for a Canadian dream. And I believe there will be more around the global because our economies are global.
As Gandhi said, 'Be the change you want to see in the world.' He also said “First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.”
"The Roots of Violence: Wealth without work, Pleasure without conscience, Knowledge without character, Commerce without morality, Science without humanity, Worship without sacrifice, Politics without principles” --- Mathatma Gandhi (what can I say, I'm a fan)

It is time to stop analyzing and keep educating people where, when and how as to the importantce of their vote and not to be swayed by some of rhetoric that money buys such as the ones that Governor Christi can afford to air on TV which are out and out distortions of the truths. He put people out of work, took money away from education is against affordable health care and in public, when asked a question, answered with "Mind Your Own Business". Yes, he is tough - for his own interests.

Noted. Americans are fed up, they are finally standing up, telling the 1% that we are not going to take their crap anymore! I hope we keep going, keep getting stronger, yell louder, protests become larger, until we overwhelm them. Until they see there is no other way then the fair way, the right way. Becoming educated on issues such as this is another step towards getting what we deserve. The more educated the people become, the more they will want to do to help. Let`s keep spreading the word.
