Thank you Terry for posting this for me. I ask that Terry please do so in hope that someone who reads this may think twice before getting too close to the shore of the ocean during major storms. I have lived along the coast all my life and unfortunately each year during major storms I hear of a drowning, many that could of been avoided.
The ocean is powerful, and certainly is worth viewing her might, but one must do it at a safe distance. If those people had only stood up on a hill, and there are many in Maine, they could of still had a view of the ocean and enjoyed the mighty waves at a safe distance.
Please people, be respectful of nature, be safe, my goodness and be safer with your children. This child died before she needed to, if the adults had only stood further back away from the waves. What a tragic loss that could of been prevented.

Thank you Dandelion for sending us the message. The strength and power of the ocean is mighty and storms are becoming stronger in effect. Do not flirt with danger and stay well away from strong, unpredictable waves, currents and surges. You are right! we must be very careful in storms. May peace come soon to the family of the little girl who so suddenly lost her life that day.

Thannnx Terry... Agree.. people should stay off the beaches and rocks when there is bad weather... so sad to hear that a little girl lost her life, the blame falls on the parents as they should of known better

They were warned. The stupidity of the father cost him his child. He will live with that forever.

This is almost an annual event in Atlantic Canada, and at two tourist sites in particular.
In spite of barriers, huge signs - everything, in fact, but an electrified fence - people persist in getting as close to the breaking surf as they can, with absolutely no concept of the weight and power that much water generates - and suddenly find that they are a lot closer than they intended.
