YIPES, well he who lives by the gun dies by the gun...

And...like Julie said, what was she doing taking a gun to a soccor game? Thould be mace or something else, that is just nutty!

Why weren't all of these guns locked up with children around it was a disaster just waiting to happen.

He then committed sucide and unfortunately left behind their three children 2 6 and 10 (I believe)...

Sad, sad, story, but you should never have guns loaded in the house period! All it takes if for one person to get mad at the other one, have to much to drink and Bang....just was waiting to happen in my opinion!

This confirms my theory that most people who have guns shouldn't.
Oh, I know the baseball bat or weapons-at-hand theory - but there's something very special, alluring, quick & easy about guns....

Agree, why was she toting a gun. Guns belong in the closet hidden away from young children. When absolutely necessary, I can understand firing a gun - but please folks, make sure they are out of sight for the children's sake.

I cannot understand some of the sentiments expressed in some of these comments, by supposedly "caring" people. Is it really right to shoot an intruder? What if its not a burglar but a family member to whom you have given a key? Ot a neighbour? Or, as we had once, a drunk young man who thought he had found his own house-- but was trying to get in our front door by mistake. What if its a young kid who has slipped off the straight-n -narrow and is trying to steal a few things? Does he deserve for you to be his judge, jury, and executioner? Why do we have Police then? Can't think why anyone needs to carry a gun when driving. Has someone got a problem with traffic cops? I have been driving for decades but have never found myself in a situation where I thought "I wish I had a gun." In fact, there have been a few times when in retrospect its a good thing I didnt have one.

Susan, here in South Africa where care-jacking is the national sport one would be a fool not to carry a gun in your car.

Police??? What is the police gonna do when someone is in your house threating your familys lives blowing holes in them??? Hey wait gotta call the cops...No uh uh I will kill you point blank you will not hurt my family...You can steal from me all you want but not without reprocussions...Yes I do agree some dont or should have guns but susan I know how to use mine I can nail you in the knee and let you lay till the cops come...or if you kill or maime one of mine it will be no holes barred...I have had cops even tell me to fight for if one gets away with you..you are surley to die. Im not planning on going that easy or out that soon. My license grants me the right to carry loaded and if attacked to protect myself...doenst necessary mean Im gonna kill ya but you definatly wont forget me....Eureka car-jacking yes gun meet car-jacker indeed. I have no apologies guys non at all...But I will take a few seconds to asses the situation...if possiable...

It doesn't appear he shot her by mistake or mistook her for a burglar in the dark. Maybe she was just annoying, perhaps she drew on him first and he was quicker. That's life in the Wild West.

Another example of one of Americas biggest problems, a 'Spoiled child syndrome'that boils down to 'gimme, gimme, I want, I want, I,want',when it comes to rights and privileges and the 'fingers in the ears, NANANANAN' when it comes to the responsibilities that go with them! People do not not have an inalienable to be swaggering gun toting imbeciles at soccer games, political rallies or in bars they do have the inalienable right to be sane, thoughtful and RESPONSIBLE MATURE ADULTS who own guns!!!Carring a gun into a bar should be considered willful endangerment of the public safety, how hard is it for anyone with crininal or violent intent to take a gun from a drunk, for the drunk to want to fight or just show off, not to mention armed drunken road rage, the danger to law enforcement and domestic violence. Carring an unloaded gun at a political event is a direct threat of violence, carring a loaded gun is a threat of and willingness to commit violence. Rights come with responsibilities, reckless or irresposibile abuse of the right to bear arms should permanently terminate that right, the lives of people are at stake.JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN DO SOMETHING DOES NOT MEAN YOU SHOULD. And yes I am totally aware that it is completely and totally UN-AMERICAN to accept not only the rights but responsibilities that go with them but also to take personal responsibility for the consequences of our actions in exercising those rights! There is the old adage about giving a six year old child a loaded gun for a present, unfortunately Americans turn into the emotional, self control, knowledge of consequences, and personal responsibility equivalents six year olds when it comes to gun rights and the exercise of those rights.

She was legal and so wws her husband.
It would appear that legality has only a passing acquaintance with safety.

Karma, she put that energy out there and it came back to her. Statistics show those who OWN a gun are more likely to die from that same gun! Your own gun is more likely to be used against you than an intruder! I don't want THAT kind of "protection." I am happy to keep fire arms away and out of my home.
