Well not sure what to do with that news. Those who want a flu shot, none can be found....then those who do not want the shot may or may not have just cause to believe they are unsafe. So declaring it a National Emergency, unless it allows the schools to close and employers to be more generous in allowing their employees to remain home (with pay? now wouldn't that be nice) I'm not sure what to do other than wash my hands frequently, get rest, eat my fruits and veggies, and ask Great Spirit to put a Shield around me and my loved ones.

Thanks for the heads up Terry! While it is certainly noteworthy news, I think that we each owe it to ourselves to type the word "flu" in the search news stories to read about how this is a place where we need to be careful not to panic and not to believe that which the lemmings are urged to believe as we race towards the cliff to the tune of the propaganda players. This topic is not quite as cosy, cute or environmentally impacting as many, but we are looking at the future and how it will play out, much as Europeans did from about 1935 onwards. THE FLU NEWS IS NOT TRIVIAL, and the flu itself is probably of far less consequence! We need to listen to Jane Bergermeister and Rauni Kilde before we let ourselves get terrified.

Georgia Congressman Paul Broun warned attendees of a town hall event Tuesday that the Obama administration was planning to use a pandemic or a natural disaster to implement martial law in the United States.

Speaking at the North Georgia Technical College auditorium, Broun said that the “socialistic elite,” as well as Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, were planning to exploit a crisis to create a favorable climate for their stalling political agenda.

“They’re trying to develop an environment where they can take over,” he said. “We’ve seen that historically.”

Broun’s warning arrives on the back of a letter sent by The National Governors Association to the Pentagon last week, which condemns the military’s plans to usurp domestic control of National Guard and federal forces deployed in the event of a natural disaster or terrorist attack.

In December 2008 it was announced that at least 20,000 more active duty soldiers will be placed inside the United States under Northcom to “help state and local officials respond to a nuclear terrorist attack or other domestic catastrophe.”

“Domestic emergency deployment may be “just the first example of a series of expansions in presidential and military authority,” or even an increase in domestic surveillance, warned Anna Christensen of the ACLU’s National Security Project. And Cato Vice President Gene Healy warned of “a creeping militarization” of homeland security.”

The contention that the troops will merely help “recovery efforts” after a major catastrophe is contradicted by the fact that Northcom itself, in a September 8 Army Times article, said the first wave of the deployment, which was put in place on October 1st at Fort Stewart and at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, would be aimed at tackling “civil unrest and crowd control”.

Congressman Broun has been a thorn in the side of Obama’s agenda since day one, voting against the “cap and trade” bill and slamming the entire concept of man-made global warming as a “hoax”.

He also spoke out against Obama’s plan to create a “national civilian security force,” warning that the program sounded like a 21st century Gestapo and that it was part of a move towards a Marxist dictatorship.

“That’s exactly what Hitler did in Nazi Germany and it’s exactly what the Soviet Union did,” Broun said. “When he’s proposing to have a national security force that’s answering to him, that is as strong as the U.S. military, he’s showing me signs of being Marxist.”

Broun also cited the threat to the second amendment posed by the Obama administration and anti-gun Attorney General Eric Holder.

“We can’t be lulled into complacency,” Broun said. “You have to remember that Adolf Hitler was elected in a democratic Germany. I’m not comparing him to Adolf Hitler. What I’m saying is there is the potential of going down that road.”

MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann voted Broun his “worst person in the world” on two separate occasions and attacked the Congressman as a racist and a bigot for expressing worries about the porous border with Mexico in relation to the swine flu outbreak. Olbermann claimed that Broun had “exploited a dead baby” to make his “sick, xenophobic and utterly irrelevant case about immigration.”

In November 2008, Olbermann erroneously claimed that Obama had called for a “civilian reserve corps” and “federally funded construction workers” when he had actually announced a plan for a “national security force,” as this video shows. Olbermann attacked Broun for expressing concerns about the program.

In July 2008 on the campaign trail, Obama called for a “civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded,” as the U.S. military.

I believe elected officials, vaccine manufacturers, medical personnel, and civil rights lawyers and organizations should meet with the public and discuss the H1N1 virus and vaccines as well as the threat Massachusetts citizens face for enforced inoculations at the cost of concentration camps and $1,000 per day fines if they refuse vaccines if an emergency is called. Isn't it amazing the way that this quietly went away for a while? Then our "terrorist in chief" tries to sleaze it back in unnoticed, he is undoubtedly bending over for the pharmaceutical companies that funded this campaign in the first place, after all they want their cut of the money that this corporate backed WORM that we have to call "Pres" (for the time being) has promised them!

I have never had the shot and this certainly is not the time to start! Many friends and family who have gotten the shot, over the years, seemed to suffer, big time, with the flu getting it almost every year no matter..Something never seemed right to me and it still doesn't.

We've looked after a veteran that was given the flu shot every year and he was the sickest person I ever did meet and assist. Since we have been looking after him these last 20 years he's not received the shot and has not suffer any of the ailments he once did. Sure gets you to thinking!

I don't do flu shots either and I'm not starting now. I think this is a man-made scam to fatten the wallets of the pharmaceutical company and related businesses. With the number of people who die every year from the flu, why haven't we heard warnings before now? And why are the warnings so orchestrated to reach a climax where people are in a frenzy while being told "come and get it when it's available" as in a fire sale?

my Mom and Pop get the flu shot every year, every year I see them get sick enough I think they may die, what's the point? have had flu once in my life, pretty amazing considering I worked as a teller for a couple years and a waitress for 15.
wash those hands, keep your fingers out of your eyes and mouth, and stop shaking hands, guys got it right with the fist bump! oh and I was told to cough into my inner elbow, not my hand. some things just make sense.

This guy is fucking up . This was an unknown virus. And deadly. That`s a National Emergency. They released a supposed anti-viral preventative shot at such speed that it is now only considered to be 76% effective. This shot should have been researched and developed from the get go. After the all too many folks who witnessed the Republican response to AIDs during the plague years, I had hope no future administration, especially Democratic, would have slugged on getting on top of any virus. Now, thanks to this administration, the kids are dying. And that is the reason the CDC put a rush on the shot. And a perfect opportunity for an opportunistic President whose word is becoming weaker to jump on a PR bandwagon. We should be looking for a new candidate in the Democratic Party for the next race. He is not aggressive or political enough to accomplish a third of the change he promised.
I knew Secretary Clinton would have been more effective in our Nation as a Leader, not a Secretary. And it has nothing to do with either of their race.

I would like to suggest to President Obama that he meet with Dr.Mercola who has lots of input from scientific specialists etc. Obama would find more truth on any medical situation from Dr Mercola who had his " eyes opened" about the link between the government & the "Big Pharma"many years ago.Mercola has lots of followers on his site millions in fact.
