JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -- It's one thing for shoplifters to hide plunder in their pants. But a live ferret?

Reminds me of an experience while sleeping over at a friend's place in the mid Eighties. I was in my sleeping bag, my boyfriend next to me in his sleeping bag. Great night's sleep after a wonderfully long day! Was starting to wake up around daylight . . . Before opening eyes, slowly rolled from my side to my back. Felt a sharp pinch on my butt. Opened my eyes and thought, "OW! But how did my boyfriend do that?" Suddenly my friend's pet ferret, who had snuck into the sleeping bag overnight, ran up my spine and of the sleeping bag. Have had mixed feelings about the lil' critters ever since!

I own ferrets and cannot imagine this crazy man getting out of the store with a fisty ferret in his pants. this is crazy, what was the homeless guy gonna do with a ferret anyway? sell it? they are mischievious and get into everything, the poor guy would have had a real handful with this little stinker!!!!

Its funny but actually not funny for the ferret! Good thing it was discovered. Maybe the guy thought the ferret would be a good pet? A lot of homeless folk in UK have a dog with them, for company, also it encourages people to give them money eg when busking. Maybe the guy thought it would be cheaper to keep a ferret than a dog? Or maybe he had misguided notions of setting it free? Or maybe he was high on dope?

Dangerously wielding a ferret!?!? Too funny, but I'm sure not for the young man who was bitten when confronting the thief. The ferret must have been quite confused, biting the wrong person.

The ferret must have gone into shock to find itself in such a strange environment and was paralyzed with fear which was lucky for the thief who must have been very lonely at the time.

Due to lower taxes and the closing of most public fund mental health institutions please be prepared to meet these poor souls wandering the streets on a day to day basis. Thank God we have lower taxes and smaller government. Any church groups want to pick this poor guy up? Because that's the plan.A Thousand Points of Light. The private sector will run to the rescue.Anyone else think the guy needs help? The ferret should be seeing a shrink now also.Poor thing.
