Tragedy upon tradegy... I hope they will be able to adjust to these adverse weather conditions and build their buildings in decent area .. they need to move out of the waterways so that there are definitely less casualties

Oh dear, can't Mother Nature please leave these islands alone just so that they can gather themselves together, find their loved ones, help each, make sure they have food and more importantly fresh water! So incredibly sad for this nation. It really is being ravished by the storms.. I sincerely hope this is the last one for this year.... thanks for sharing this with us Lone W.

Mike,
actually global tropical cyclone activity remains near 30 year lows. From Florida State University's tropical cyclone update: "Global and Northern Hemisphere Tropical Cyclone Activity remains near 30-year historical lows -- three years in a row now of considerably below-average activity globally." They have a graph on their website depicting the last 30 years of activity.
The Philippines have just been extremely unlucky. The total number of storms is really down not up.

I wish I had got her name! My seat mate on the Greyhound bus from Salmon Arm BC to Vancouver, dragging two huge suitcases and heading for home. She had no idea what awaited her, only that it may be devastation. That day was Nov. 2nd
