Reporting from Hayfork, Calif. -- Education has long been preached as a way to keep kids away from drugs. It's the walk to school that has Supt. Tom Barnett worried

If they would just legalize marijuana period, they wouldn't have to deal with the gangsta element any more than the police have to worry about people like Al Capone being the ones tending bar or owning a liquor store. By having ANY part of honest marijuana sales remaining illegal, you're going to be keeping that black market.

This is such a small problem compared to what farmers in Afghanistan are growing - just "Legalize it".

I don't get the big deal about keeping pot illegal it is not as bad as alchohol and it 's an herb! They need to legalize it.
Thanks Lone

The crying shame is that they release violent offenders (child predators, murderers, rapists, and others) from our overcrowded prisons so they can keep in all the people who once sold half an ounce of pot. Pfui. And we pay the price for the bad policy. Sheesh.

Well they smoke and do almost everything with pot in Amsterdam and I would say that the majority of the populace are full of 'love and peace'... marijuana should be legalised, a lot of people only want to smoke it because they think it looks cool (bit like cigarettes when we were younger). But the good thing is that it isn't as harmful as alcohol and ciggies... so just legalise it all over the world and let people be full of love towards each other. Might help stop some of the gangsta shootings too, you never know... you could dream it anyway!

If it were legal, they could tax it. Also they could save money on keeping users in jail. They could keep the jails for the real crims. Re. Afghanistan, the West should buy up all the poppies and make morphine etc for therapeutic use, this would give the people in that land a proper income (growing other stuff instead of poppies doesnt bring them enough to live on) and would save health costs. This will not happen any time soon because it would not be in the interest of those who make a lot of money out of healthcare and health insurance.

Legalize it and China will start growing and shipping it here. Of course, it would probably be soaked in pesticides, herbicides, and melamine. But that would open up the need for organically grown marijuana and then the USDA could start certifying it.

if it came from china i sure wouldn't buy it just grow my own, here in WV if you been to prison for any drugs you can't get food stamps but if you killed or raped you can anything else but drugs, so where is that right

Valid medicinal value, it’s a victimless crime, the War on Drugs WAY too costly, too many arrests for simple possession, tax it and use the money to pay for health insurance and to reduce the deficit…Need I say more?

Woodstock Universe supports legalization of Marijuana.

Add vote in our poll about legalization at http://www.woodstockuniverse.com.

Current poll results…96% for legalization, 4% against.

Listen to RADIO WOODSTOCK 69 which features only music from the original Woodstock era (1967-1971) and RADIO WOODSTOCK with music from the original Woodstock era to today’s artists who reflect the spirit of Woodstock. Watch Woodstock TV.
