I don't believe jailing persons for life, most of them get out before and there is no better place to be educated into the criminal world than in Prison.

Criminals are well educated in crime before prison otherwise they would not be there in the first place. This thirteen year old was not caught with his hand in the cookie jar! he committed a very serious crime indeed,and luckily the attack did not end in the loss of this elderly ladies life. I think he is where he should be,and possibly has saved many people from more of the same,or worse. There are too many of these thugs on the streets today,people are living fear in their own homes,or afraid to go out. The courts need to take a very tough stand against criminals,and put them where they belong. Do the crime...Do the time. I think the sympathy should be with the victims,not the criminal!

Jane you said it honestly and truthfully.... people that are raped are scarred for life.. and suffer so much trauma... their lives are taken away from them to... no matter what the crime.. people have to be responsible for their actions... Even at thirteen this boy knows what is right and what is wrong... God to has put this in our hearts and at thirteen most boys become men... he must be an excample to others so that others may see a life time in prison may be a good deterrent
