Archie Thompson learned the Yurok language as a boy living on his grandmother's ranch.  "She didn't speak English, and I used to make fun of her all the time, but that's how I learned. She spoke to me every day," Thompson said

It is so important for our elders to pass down their heritage and traditions to the younger family members. I wish more people would do this; I believe this would raise self esteem levels of our youth. Mr Thompson is a gift to all youth he comes in contact with. It seems staying in such close contact with the younger generation gives him purpose and energy, which explains why he is such a young 90! We can all learn from him! Thank you Terry.
