CHEYENNE, Wyo. - In a bid to take over management of gray wolves, Wyoming argues there's no biological reason that the predators should be treated as a trophy game species throughout the entire state

A trophy species, for goodness sake when is the world going to wake up. Animals are not trophies.

We have a dear friend who lives in Jackson Hole with whom I already had some arguments about this in the past as we do not agree about the wildlife situation over there. Wyoming seems to have lost their sense for biological balance. Initially they were overrun with elk and what not and complained dearly about that but now that the wolves are making a comeback, they now complain that the wolves are eating some elk as their food requirement. As she comes to our little country every year for a month, I have to believe from her stories that more elk is being run over by vehicles or shot for fun than ever eaten by wolves. Some of their restaurants even make jokes about it by posting the daily special as whatever got killed today on the roads, usually elk.

Bottom line, I doubt very much that elk is going to be extinct by either form of kill so please, let nature take it's course and leave them alone, all of them which includes bears, cougars, moose and whatever else roams around there as none of them are a real threat to humans over there. And if somebody does not like that, please, move to another state as all these magnificient creatures probably don't like you either.

In the meantime drivers and other people of Wyoming, drive a little safer and buy a camera instead of a double barrel shot gun will ya!

Right on Ron! When do we learn to enjoy and savor our own wildlife heritage?
