He's apologizing for a drive-by shooting where he'd shot a little one? Another example of the unmerciful expecting mercy...oh well. Thanks Terry.

SO TRAGIC! The stupidity of drive-bys and hate, and drugs, etc. goes on and on. This little girl and her family's lives have forever changed because of one senseless act of violence. My prayers go out to them.

Well, unless he was forcefully drugged and drunk, there's no excuse for what he did!!

His apology will t bring back her lifes blood, nor will it ever end her suffering and the whole in her Heart, life is a gift,no man can take anothers life force without giving his own,for taking life from one life, is taking life from all lives, all lifes breath on Earth Mother, women are still to this day disrespected, haunted by the past of the days of the burning of the witches, how many generations watched there own mothers and daughters burnt at the stake for having a knowingness far beyond mans comprehension, the womanis OHOYO/Giver of all Life,Man in Choctaw is Hattuk=Taker of Life,Until this male dominated heiarchy is dessolved, womens hearts can not heal, women must remember the ancient ways, nurturing one another and all lifes breath, we are the creators, we give life, we birth new beginnings,we weep for our children, and all childrens children,We are the Womb of all Mother Nature, sisters must return to the love for one another, harmony and Peace will come

I have uneasy feelings about handing an 18yr old a chunk of unrestricted money. Most of them don't have the maturity to know what to do with it and the party is on. A lot of 18 yr olds are not yet ready for college (mine included) but given some time and a little growth would be more likely to utilize the money to better their lives. Parents need to encourage their kids to get an education from the time they are little but no matter how you try they don't always hear. Some kids are not designed for college but there are so many other positive things they can do to improve the chances of a productive future if they have a little financial help. As a mom I can't help but feeling this young man is a victim. Now the die is cast and he will have to pay the price for his crime and the world has lost what he might have been. In addition, a little girl will have to deal with her injuries for the rest of her life. This story is repeated all too often.

Oh, he apologised? That makes it ok then, all is forgiven. Being drunk and/or high is a TOTALY aceptable excuse, right?

You can't use being drunk as an exuse- You should know your limits and not go beyond them in the first place, and you should always make sure when drinking to be carful and avoid situations where you would normally feel angry, upset, whatever. As for being high- same thing.
I don't care how drunk you get, or how high. But actions have ripples- the conciquences of your actions can easily effect countless people.

I show merci for the mother whom has been robbed of her precious child. Drink and drugs are not an excuse to go around wielding guns and shooting carelessly as the classic example is implied in this tragic out come. There is no sentence available that will ever justify what he has done ever the coward! I'll note this in honour of the mother of this child who was taken out by this act of evil. Bless the victims here and curse the killer.
