How very sad - a father willing to kill his own son to avoid child support payments.

A couple of years ago we had a client who was going through a divorce and hoped very much to avoid child support payments for his 13 year old son. Despite his having no doubts as to the child's parentage, he unsuccessfully tried to insist upon a DNA test being performed in the hopes that somehow the boy might miraculously turn out not to be his. Because he thought that would relieve him of his financial obligations.

After all those years of raising a child who loved him he would have chosen to sever the relationship and cause such harm to his own son in order to save a buck.

It is so far beyond my comprehension on how someone could murder their own child. Espcially one so young, over money!!! I hope the guilt on what he's done eats him up each and every day he has left of his miserable life! RIP sweet little Da'Shawn.
