If we had Universal Health Care we'd get out from under all of this bull crap. Only Industrialized Country in the world that works it's people and cares not how they stay well. Keep the unemployment high and you can always find the workers willing to take anything to keep from starving or living on the streets.

My friends grandson worked for them and they cut his hours to part time with a baby on the way. Now he doesn't make enough money to keep the health insurance but he can't pay for the delivery without it. Not all want to do it the natural way, bless their hearts, some want to be in the hospital and others might have high risk pregnancies. But that is Company loyalty for you these days, there isn't any.

Sent a note to them, what a cowardly thing to do, all for greed. You bet the "upper" employees all have health care. Makes me sick that this kind of thing is blamed on Obama and has been going on long before Obama came to office.

We've had over a hundred years of two-party rule by the same two capitalist parties, both of which accept countless millions of dollars in corporate "donations." What we have gotten from our corporate-sponsored parties: a decline of workers' rights, including the right to collective bargaining; a seemingly endless series of wars; climate change accelerating to a point where it may already be too late; and the most expensive system of health care to treat the least number of people. People say that I'm throwing my vote away because I'm voting Green, but, after 50 years of watching the country slide further and further to the right, right into corporate oligarchy, I'd rather throw my ballot away in the gutter than vote for the trash that have run our nation into the ground. There are Greens sitting in seats of power around the world. There are even a few Greens in office here in the U.S. The Greens actually care about people and the environment. If we had the Green plan known as the Green New Deal, then all Americans would have access to universal health care. I've had all the backsliding, backroom dealing government that I can take; I'm going to vote green. I'm going to vote Green, not because they will win the white house this time or because they will even take over a state. I'm voting Green for the sake of the future. If 5% of the people who aren't going to vote at all showed up and voted Green, then the Greens would get campaign funds for 2016 and a seat at the 2016 presidential debates. Then, the two corporate parties would have to at least answer some tough questions: questions to which most Americans want to know the answers. And before some corporate troll tries to shout me down by shrilly whining that a vote for the Greens is a vote for Romney, let me just tell all of you one simple fact: THEY ARE LYING. The people that vote Green are the people who, if it weren't for the Green Party, then they wouldn't be voting at all...so the Greens are NOT stealing votes from anyone, least of all a party that gets over one hundred million dollars in corporate donations for advertising.

Not just Olive Garden, McDonald, BK, Home Depot, Chain groceries are hiring part-timer while management get some benefits. Major corporation depend management to run business and use management as bad guys to employees as scrapes goats in slavery. More people getting hiring or continue education in management position. It's like a funnel. The higher education (Master/ Doctorial/ Phd), more valuable, and the better to the big boss corporate.

This is nothing new. Restaurant industry, retail industry, hospitality industry...all hire part time/occasional employees to avoid paying benefits. Long standing practice.
