I don't think I can support this with out further evidence. Jack Lew is a tough negotiator. Republicans are not comfortable with him. (More so than with Geitner)) Lew has backed Obamacare, as well as defended the expansion of medicare to the states.
You are going to have to sell this on a practicle basis not related to whatever fear you have today.

Jack Lew, as an ardent advocate of NAFTA and of financial deregulation, is about as toxic as a toxic capitalist can get. He is the best example of a corporate drone being used to advance the agenda of the elites.

From the roots action petition site:
"Jack Lew, the President's nominee for Secretary of the Treasury, supported the creation of NAFTA and the deregulation of banks, and has supported similar strategies ever since, without apology or admission of error.

In October 2008, candidate Barack Obama said: "We know that it's because of deregulation that Wall Street was able to engage in the kind of irresponsible actions that have caused this financial crisis."

In September 2010, Lew said: "The problems in the financial industry preceded deregulation."

Who is right, the nominee or the nominator? They can't both be.

Tell your senators to reject Jack Lew now."

Petition signed.

Not thrilled with him, Jack Lew, as his background is questionable.

Jack Lew is the dream candidate for Big Business. It is disingenuous for anyone to suggest that, just because a few Republicans have expressed opposition to him, Lew is an acceptable candidate, much less a voice of reform. We need to demand more, because Jack Lew just isn't good enough.

It's truly pathetic: when did not being a Republican become the sole criteria for acceptability? Of course, Republicans are right-wing extremists, but does that mean we must acquiese and comply with centrist Democrats who are also working to fulfill the corporate agenda of economic injustice, endless war, and environmental rape? Maybe Lew is everything that the centrist capitalists i.e. Democrats desire, but he certainly is no friend of the left.

I'm tired of seeing all the same people running things, just musical chairs amongst thieves & liars..I wish we could just pull people out of diners & factories & janitorial services & Force them to take these "jobs" in Government - I think we'd ALL be better off!;)

Signed gladly. I agree with Brian M. Not all Republicans are evil nor are all Democrats "good".

Jack Lew worked hard to help deregulate the banks...and that is what got our economy into the crisis that it has been in since the crash in '07. We have to stop supporting people who only help the wealthy get wealthier. We need people from the progressive left who are willing to work for the betterment of all Americans, not just the elites.
