Jewelry demand accounts for 70% of newly mined gold. So far, 90 leading jewelry retailers have pledged to keep irresponsibly mined gold off their shelves. Macy's refuses to join these retailers and clean up its gold supply chain.

Thanks for taking action! And for urging Macy's to say no to dirty gold

One does not have to have a gold ring around their finger in order to say, "I love you.' Love comes from the heart and two people do not need a gold ring to know that.

We all need to take responsibility in what we purchase and how that action plays out upon the environment and for others health and well being. In some areas it may be more difficult to do than others, but this one is easy to do as one doesn't have to have a ring in order to live. Standards for all laborers and environmental around the world need to be raised, no one person or area is more valuable than another just because they live someplace else.

I reported the spammer.

And for urging Macy's to say no to dirty gold -- and sign the No Dirty Gold campaign's Golden Rules.

It says Macy's "refused" but this is the first I've heard of Macy's vs. the Pledge. Maybe they just haven't gotten around to it yet? I'm not suggesting anything for certain, but I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt...
