"The men set up traps for deers and antelopes for food
but accidentally trapped and killed a tiger cub"

The tigers belong in the forest as do the poor animals that who had traps set after them. Maybe they need to plant the incense trees where they live so they can leave the wild animals be wild.

I have a silly smile on my face now - not feeling too sorry for the guys in the tree.....

A tragic, yet , a tale that needs to be told.; a lesson learned the hard way.

I certainly hope the rescuers do not shoot the tigers. These men were asking for trouble. I think perhaps this will deter them from trying that again....at least in that area.

I, too, am on the side of the tigers. Are we sure about the actual number of tigers? Victims are notoriously inaccurate in case like this. They wouldn't have wanted anyone to know that it was a lone tigrer/tigress??

To Connie O - it won't deter them because they will have participated in a tiger hunt, and the tiger they catch will very probably NOT be the one(s) guilty. These are village people and the govt won't be there to stop any hunt. Or by saying it was a mankiller, very probably the govt will agree, even help in the hunt.

So very sad. The big cats lose again.

The tigers shouldn't be killed...the men were careless and trapped a cub...the tigers were just saving their own!
