At least six female sea turtles have become disoriented this summer on Anna Maria Island in Florida, unable to find their way back to the water after coming to shore to nest.

It's the chemical dispersants flooded into the gulf by BP. Isn't this obvious with all the marine deaths in and around the gulf?

Read and noted. Hope they find out soon what is causing this. Have there been problems with turtles in nesting sites other than FL?

Would be interesting to know if these turtles were "rescued" as eggs, and released directly into the water as hatchlings....

(meaning... they have never made that natural journey from the nest to the ocean on their own)
