Palin is "resigning as part of damage control" due to a scandal that is "not of a family nature." ...

"The governor would not be able to continue her job when it comes out," she told me on the phone just now, before adding: "Why would Mark Sanford not resign, but Sarah Palin did?

FOX Noi$e complained they couldn't get near her home but MSNBC ran her announcement "live" ... ???? Clearly, a staged P.R. 'damage control' mea$ure.

ROTFLMBO!

A friend sent this email ... to be charitable ...

Here's what I am not hearing on cable news: Palin will have a relatively short shelf life to cash in on her Vice Presidential bid. Serious opportunities at large sums of legitimate cash are there for the taking but not as a sitting governor. Her initial speaking fees will be 6 figures a speech with an extended time at 5 figures. This will also support a lucrative book deal with a possible movie. After she exhausts all this there is at least talk radio if not conservative TV where she can continue to cash in. Most people think FOX news but I think Christian TV is more likely. Finally I really do not hold this against her. This is tens of millions in the hand versus a very low probability of a 2012 bid. At the end of the day this is a middle class American family with a medically challenged baby. Could you walk away from $20-30 million?

Wow, she's the "sexy" Rod Blagojevich of the RepubliCON party! Maybe she took the hint from Rod's down-fall (though I doubt it, Rod's a Democrat who Supported Unions - she's a RepubliCON who busts 'em) .. I Kinda understand a certain amount of corruption in politics, but it Usually takes a BIG scandal to Unseat a Governor!;)

Got that right, Yvonne ... $anford won't re$ign but Palin doe$ ... and Fox Noi$e complains that the new$ media couldn't get near her home but MSNBC ran her "announcement" live!

P.R. orchestratoin ... totally!

Her speaking fees??? She can't even speak (lol). Well she can't string a sentence together having never heard of the subject-verb agreement. Seriously, this is great news. And as for running for president - how could she possibly with all that scandal supposedly ready to hit the fan? She should just disappear into the sunset, but leave her guns behind. Is this a potential victory for wolves, polar bears and whales? Being from Australia, I am not familiar with the person named as her successor. I just thought of something - is this just a cruel hoax? Sorry, I am all over the place because I am so excited. Thanks, Blue.

The house that Palin built could even be built on the carcasses of dead wolves, bears and other critters.. a 3000 square foot concrete house foundation hides lots of bodies of evidence really well. Just kidding, but it really could be true symbolically speaking.

Palin really is the gift that keeps on giving. Actually two gifts, scandal and contreversy. Pay her to speak? How paying someone to teach her to speak and possibly think.

Nora J. (131)
Friday July 3, 2009, 10:59 pm
Good one, Carrie. "...paying someone to teach her to speak..." Very funny. What annoys me the most about alll this is that she spins her BS with a straight face and thinks we are all stupid enough to believe her!

Carrie Burton (139)

Nora, thank you. Palin is so selfabosorbed I don't think she ever really THINKS about other people's feelings at all! She sees herself as the diva she believes she is.

I'm sorry, but I cannot remain silent in response to the comment posted by the pseudo Care2 member. No one hates Palin because she is a woman. Far from it; she is as far from being womanly as anyone can get. We object to her mainly for her treatment of animals, her absolute contempt for the environment and her greed, lust for power and her complete disregard for future generations. No REAL woman kills a poor, defenseless animal with a high powered rifle then takes happy family snapshots of themselves with the dead, bleeding carcass. REAL women are protective, nurturing and caring by nature and we don't kill.

I admire women such as Sigourney Weaver and her work for the great apes with the Dian Fossey Foundation, Lily Tomlin for her work to free zoo elephants, Daryl Hannah for her brave stance against mountain top removal mining by greedy coal companies, Hayden Panettiere for her defense of slaughtered whales and dolphins in Japan. To me, these women are beautiful for their selfless efforts to defend the rights of others. The only living being Sarah Palin defends is herself and, in my book, that makes her exceedingly UNattractive.

Well just maybe there is a God after all! I expect the lady and I use that term very loosely, has some devious hidden agenda in the timing of her departure. It could even make the Japanese Government look saintly by comparison, I suspect! The big problem for wild life is it must give her more time to kill, on the bizarre assumption that her assasination of political or family rivals will diminish. Maybe she will suffer the fate of her victims and rot in obscurity. Whatever, the other side of the coin there are many wonderful and beautiful women who have devoted their lives to the welfare animals for example the British actress Alexandra Bastedo, the French actress Brigitte Bardot, the British model Celia Hammond and countless other super ladies around the world working for the good of animals(Google the names in for interesting detail of their work) These ladies will leave a legacy of good deeds and have no trouble using the green route through Heavens customs section and we all know who will go down the red route which is a rubbish shute to the hot place with old nick to join her friends from the hunting cadre slowly roasting on an open fire!

I don't think Care2 members are likely to fall into the category of sex discriminators, liberal or otherwise, so I don't understand the rant of the contributor who alluded to this stance! If this charge were levelled at the UK it would be unfounded as we have a female Monarch and have had a female Prime Minister. The lady in question probably debarred herself from the Whitehouse by her unfeminine utterances, cruel mindset, self obsession, nepotism and greed driven lifestyle to name but a few of her noxiuos attributes. The sadest thing is, with a lttle therapy and readjustment she could have rejoined the human race and even become a nice person. Miracles do happen!

Here is the latest poop from Brad Blog

"Okay, I've now been able to get independent information from multiple sources that all of this precedes what are said to be possible federal indictments against Palin, concerning an embezzlement scandal related to the building of Palin's house and the Wasilla Sports Complex, built during her tenure as Mayor. Both structures, it is said, feature the "same windows, same wood, same products." Federal investigators have been looking into this for some time, and indictments could be imminent, according to the Alaska sources."

http://www.bradblog.com/?p=7280

This story first appeared in the Village Voice during the campaign on October 8, 2008. If you were paying attention you knew she wasn't long for this political world back then. More astounding is the fact that Todd Palin originally told the corporate media and their cracker jack reporters that he built this 2 million dollar house in three months with some help from his friends, and no one except Barrett bothered to even question such an implausible assertion. If you think this is even plausible see the picrture of the house at Brad Blog!

I didn't understand any of Fdfdsfds B's statement other than we are sexist. As mos of us are women I doubt that is a serious accusation and, if it is meant to be, then he's obviously not on the same page as us! It's all about wildlife protection, corruption and double standards - in other words she's not popular! I hope that charges are made out against Palin if this can be proved and that forced to reimburse all money taken.

I am Canadian and not into politics at all. But I do want to say Hooray she is out of there! She has no respect for life, demonstrated by endorsing wolf slaughter, even to offer $100.00 for a cut off leg from the wolf you killed. She also not only would go for the Polar Bear being listed as endangered - she endorses hunting them. She also refused to recognize the Beluga Whale being endangered. Palin did endorse drilling, with her husband in the business. She oes not care about the environment and wildlife that would affected. Palin is evil - not just cruel, but evil. No surprise if she did swindle a house. As I have said so many time's: How would she feel to be hunted the way she pushed for the wolves to be gunned down? Now she is going to know a little bit about that. Hooray!

Here Are The Top Ten Reasons Palin Really REALLY Quit - And Add Yours
Okay, now that we've been nice for about 15 minutes (see below), please have a glass of virtual champagne as you enjoy the really real reasons why Palin quit being Governor today ~

Extra 2 reasons

12. Feel like the USA dodged a bullet with Palin?

11. Thought that she could get a ton of liberals to start believing in God once they saw their prayers answered.

Top Ten

10. No time for real shopping.

9. Knows this will help her get even bigger ratings when she appears on David Letterman.

8. This was always her plan - likes campaigning but not the other stuff.

7. Governing got in the way of her running schedule.

6. Piper told her to.

5. Wants to explore bi-curious feelings aroused by her association with Greta and John Coale.

4. Church of Scientology told her to. (this works in both serious and comedy catagories - see poll at left).

3. Thinks Tina Fey Would Actually Do A Better Job.

2. More pissed than we realized about having to take stimulus money.

1. Wants to join Blagojevitch and Sanford on new reality program - "Survivor - The Governor Edition"

ties with

Nora, I don't think I've read it said any better than what you described here. I loathe her and all she stands for, there is nothing Christian, womanly, kind or courageous about her, she is, as was said earlier, evil. Its a great day for Alaska, their independance from stupidity and greed.

Carrie, I didn't find the news about the indictments in the major new$ media; I found it online at the Brad Blog ... scandals usually hit "the net" before any of the [sic] journalists who act as "talking heads" get their "blast fax" talking points from the party headquarters ... LOL!

"The net" knew about $anford's Argentine "hike" before his staff could even try to regroup around the lie they told about the Appalachian trail.

Perhaps I spent too many years watching them "massage the news" ... and I know too many researchers who are online and much more astute about ferreting out the facts.

Palin like Margaret Thatcher is twisted, and represents constituencies of greed-the fact that they are women is irrelevant..It is the policies that matter, not gender, race, sexuality etc. Most working class women I knew hated Thatcher as she underfunded health and education, and redistributed money to "the haves".

Leaving that aside would President Palin have been more embarrassing than President Bush?

Lisa, July 4, 1:23pm: Please do not give Pagans the bad name by calling Sarah Palin $arah Pagan. Pagans love, honor and respect nature, animals and the earth, whereas Sarah Palin does everything in her power to destroy it. Here's one for the Wolves, Polar Bears and other animals she had in her cross hairs. And to the places on Mother Earth she planned to destroy in her quest to be a member of big oil profits.

Blue Bunting: loved the links to nailinpalin, I will pass it on.

Perhaps another reason she is resigning is all of the lies are starting to catch up to her. The picture above shows her "true inner beauty" coming out in all of it's ugliness for the rest of the world to see, at last. Many of us already knew it was there, it just took longer for other to see it. Remember Sarah, the truth shall set you free-from your corrupt goals for the American public and the rest of the world.

Dear Blue, now I am ROTFLMBO!! It's so late that to do your info justice I'll just have to come back on later today to say thanks for keeping us up to speed on the latest with Palingate.

Also a HUGE thank you for posting your info with links I can click onto. I'm still a snail when it comes to cut and paste.

Think I'll set my alarm so I can cath the early "returns" from the GOP Spinners, Whinners and especially the foxy "news".

Sooner or later the Trolls, and lurkers were bound to show themselves, and now they have. They have picked on the wrong crew to do battle with, as they have made the mistake of coming out of hiding prematurely and we know to watch for them.

Right on Blue and all other commentors. Good riddance to bad rubbish, I say. Collie girl said it all. she's one scary piece of work. How she ever was considered as vice-presidential material is beyond me. Her ethics and practices remind me of the good old days(yuck)when the first settlers figured that the land they were usurping was boundless(which it was then), ripe for rape and pillage and inhabited by soulless savages(which they weren't). That kind of demonic mentality is doomed to be exposed and cleansed(metaphorically speaking) for the betterment of man and nature.

I have been reading all the posts since I was last on line. A few thing are bothering me. Let's not accuse people of hitting the bottle when we don't know what's going on in their lives, OK? Also, Kristen don't be too hard your mom. Alzheimers makes people do things one would consider completely out of the norm for them, i.e., using foul language, being sexually provacative, and generally saying and doing things they themselves once found offensive. I try not to be understanding when it comes to other's health problems as I have a few of my own. Back to Palin. Does anyone think she would have resigned from the vice presidency after that seat got too hot for comfort?

Palin takes to Web for hints of political future

Article:

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin didn't wait long to give some hint of what her political life might look like after she leaves office at the end of the month.

After staying out of the public eye for most of Saturday, a day after abruptly announcing she would soon give up her job as governor, Palin indicated on a social networking site that she would take on a larger, national role, citing a "higher calling" to unite the country along conservative lines.

"I am now looking ahead and how we can advance this country together with our values of less government intervention, greater energy independence, stronger national security, and much-needed fiscal restraint," the former Republican vice presidential candidate wrote in a posting on her Facebook page. Palin's spokeswoman, Meghan Stapleton, confirmed Palin wrote the entry.

Palin shocked even her closest friends on Friday when she announced she would resign July 26, more than a year before her first term ends. But the controversial hockey mom has not revealed many details of bigger plans and national agenda.

Palin instead cast herself as a victim and blasted the media, calling the response to her announcement "predictable" and out of touch.

"How sad that Washington and the media will never understand; it's about country," the statement said. "And though it's honorable for countless others to leave their positions for a higher calling and without finishing a term, of course we know by now, for some reason a different standard applies for the decisions I make."

The abruptness of her announcement and the mystery surrounding her plans have fed widespread speculation. But Palin attorney Thomas Van Flein on Saturday warned legal action may be taken against bloggers and publications that reprint what he calls fraudulent claims.

"To the extent several websites, most notably liberal Alaska blogger Shannyn Moore, are now claiming as 'fact' that Governor Palin resigned because she is 'under federal investigation' for embezzlement or other criminal wrongdoing, we will be exploring legal options this week to address such defamation," Van Flein said in a statement. "This is to provide notice to Ms. Moore, and those who re-publish the defamation, such as Huffington Post, MSNBC, the New York Times and The Washington Post, that the Palins will not allow them to propagate defamatory material without answering to this in a court of law."

He also told the Anchorage Daily News that Palin wasn't in any criminal legal jeopardy.

"I can say definitively I am aware of no criminal investigation whatsoever involving Sarah Palin. Zero," he said.

The FBI reiterated that claim Saturday, telling the Los Angeles Times for a story Sunday that the Federal Bureau of Investigation was not investigating Palin's activities as governor, a former mayor or in any other capacity.

"There is absolutely no truth to those rumors that we're investigating her or getting ready to indict her," Special Agent Eric Gonzalez, the bureau's Alaska spokesman, said.

Palin has kept a low profile since her sudden announcement Friday at a hastily called news conference at her home in suburban Wasilla, outside Anchorage. All of her public communication since then has been on the social networking sites Facebook and Twitter, or through statements released by her office.

At the same time, Palin informed her spokesman David Murrow early Saturday that someone using the name "exgovsarahpalin" on Twitter was spreading a false rumor that there was to be a party at her suburban home in Wasilla, outside Anchorage. Palin was afraid her home would be mobbed, and security was dispatched, Murrow said.

With only a few weeks before she steps down on July 26, and Alaska Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell takes her place, the governor spent the Fourth of July weekend in the state capital, Juneau, but was only spotted briefly on the sidelines of the city's parade.

She had been invited to ride in a convertible, as she did last year, but never told organizers whether she would attend.

Juneau parade director Jean Sztuk said officials drew up banners in case Palin showed and was willing to take part.

As the last of the parade's clowns and marching bands headed past her, Sztuk gave up on Palin. "What governor wants to be at the end of the parade?" she asked.

Her low-profile and vague Internet messages left mounting questions about her plans for the future shrouded in mystery. Will she lay the groundwork for a 2012 presidential bid? Will she find a high-profile place in the private sector, maybe on the speech circuit? Will she drop out of the limelight and focus on her five children?

Her constituents, for one, wanted to know, especially in Juneau, where she has struggled to win over residents.

"I think she owes it to Alaskans to tell us why," said state Sen. Dennis Egan, D-Juneau, the son of Alaska's first governor, Bill Egan.

Egan, hosting a 50th anniversary statehood ceremony, said he was disappointed Palin decided not to finish out her term, which was scheduled to end in 2010.

"It's sad she abandoned us at this critical time," said Egan, who was appointed by Palin to an open seat on the last day of the legislative session in April, after a protracted battle with Senate Democrats.

Palin's departure can't come soon enough for Laurel Carlton, a waitress at the Capital Cafe in the Baranof Hotel, where the city's political movers and shakers meet every morning before walking a few blocks to the Capitol.

"I think she has a game plan that's not Alaska, and hasn't been for awhile," Carlton said.

She noted Palin has a book deal, and seems headed for the national stage.

"If you're really not going to stay and do your job every day, you should leave anyway, and so the sooner the better so somebody can step in and actually do the job," Carlton said.

And as far as Carlton is concerned, Palin doesn't need to explain why she's leaving.

"We don't care. We just want her gone," she said.

Palin, whose popularity in Alaska has waned amid ongoing ethics investigations, gave many reasons for stepping down: She didn't want to be a lame-duck governor; she was tired of the tasteless jokes aimed at her five children, including her son Trig, who has Down syndrome; she felt she could do more in another, still-to-be-defined role.

Sen. John McCain didn't rule out a return to politics for his former running mate, saying Saturday he believes "she will continue to play an important leadership role in the Republican Party and our nation." He gave no other details.

Even Parnell, who plans to run for re-election after finishing out Palin's term, said he was shocked at first when he learned of his boss' decision.

"But then as she began to articulate her reasons, I began to understand better," he said. "And nobody — unless they've been in her position and understood what she has gone through and dealt with and who she is as a person — really understands."
