Palin is "resigning as part of damage control" due to a scandal that is "not of a family nature." ...

"The governor would not be able to continue her job when it comes out," she told me on the phone just now, before adding: "Why would Mark Sanford not resign, but Sarah Palin did?

FOX Noi$e complained they couldn't get near her home but MSNBC ran her announcement "live" ... ???? Clearly, a staged P.R. 'damage control' mea$ure.

A friend sent this email ... to be charitable ...

Here's what I am not hearing on cable news: Palin will have a relatively short shelf life to cash in on her Vice Presidential bid. Serious opportunities at large sums of legitimate cash are there for the taking but not as a sitting governor. Her initial speaking fees will be 6 figures a speech with an extended time at 5 figures. This will also support a lucrative book deal with a possible movie. After she exhausts all this there is at least talk radio if not conservative TV where she can continue to cash in. Most people think FOX news but I think Christian TV is more likely. Finally I really do not hold this against her. This is tens of millions in the hand versus a very low probability of a 2012 bid. At the end of the day this is a middle class American family with a medically challenged baby. Could you walk away from $20-30 million?

Wow, she's the "sexy" Rod Blagojevich of the RepubliCON party! Maybe she took the hint from Rod's down-fall (though I doubt it, Rod's a Democrat who Supported Unions - she's a RepubliCON who busts 'em) .. I Kinda understand a certain amount of corruption in politics, but it Usually takes a BIG scandal to Unseat a Governor!;)

Blue Bunting (855)

Got that right, Yvonne ... $anford won't re$ign but Palin doe$ ... and Fox Noi$e complains that the new$ media couldn't get near her home but MSNBC ran her "announcement" live!

Her speaking fees??? She can't even speak (lol). Well she can't string a sentence together having never heard of the subject-verb agreement. Seriously, this is great news. And as for running for president - how could she possibly with all that scandal supposedly ready to hit the fan? She should just disappear into the sunset, but leave her guns behind. Is this a potential victory for wolves, polar bears and whales? Being from Australia, I am not familiar with the person named as her successor. I just thought of something - is this just a cruel hoax? Sorry, I am all over the place because I am so excited. Thanks, Blue.

The house that Palin built could even be built on the carcasses of dead wolves, bears and other critters.. a 3000 square foot concrete house foundation hides lots of bodies of evidence really well. Just kidding, but it really could be true symbolically speaking.

Palin really is the gift that keeps on giving. Actually two gifts, scandal and contreversy. Pay her to speak? How paying someone to teach her to speak and possibly think.

Nora J (229)
Friday July 3, 2009, 10:59 pm
Good one, Carrie. "...paying someone to teach her to speak..." Very funny. What annoys me the most about alll this is that she spins her BS with a straight face and thinks we are all stupid enough to believe her!

Carrie B (306)

Nora, thank you. Palin is so selfabosorbed I don't think she ever really THINKS about other people's feelings at all! She sees herself as the diva she believes she is.

I'm sorry, but I cannot remain silent in response to the comment posted by the pseudo Care2 member. No one hates Palin because she is a woman. Far from it; she is as far from being womanly as anyone can get. We object to her mainly for her treatment of animals, her absolute contempt for the environment and her greed, lust for power and her complete disregard for future generations. No REAL woman kills a poor, defenseless animal with a high powered rifle then takes happy family snapshots of themselves with the dead, bleeding carcass. REAL women are protective, nurturing and caring by nature and we don't kill.

I admire women such as Sigourney Weaver and her work for the great apes with the Dian Fossey Foundation, Lily Tomlin for her work to free zoo elephants, Daryl Hannah for her brave stance against mountain top removal mining by greedy coal companies, Hayden Panettiere for her defense of slaughtered whales and dolphins in Japan. To me, these women are beautiful for their selfless efforts to defend the rights of others. The only living being Sarah Palin defends is herself and, in my book, that makes her exceedingly UNattractive.

Well just maybe there is a God after all! I expect the lady and I use that term very loosely, has some devious hidden agenda in the timing of her departure. It could even make the Japanese Government look saintly by comparison, I suspect! The big problem for wild life is it must give her more time to kill, on the bizarre assumption that her assasination of political or family rivals will diminish. Maybe she will suffer the fate of her victims and rot in obscurity. Whatever, the other side of the coin there are many wonderful and beautiful women who have devoted their lives to the welfare animals for example the British actress Alexandra Bastedo, the French actress Brigitte Bardot, the British model Celia Hammond and countless other super ladies around the world working for the good of animals(Google the names in for interesting detail of their work) These ladies will leave a legacy of good deeds and have no trouble using the green route through Heavens customs section and we all know who will go down the red route which is a rubbish shute to the hot place with old nick to join her friends from the hunting cadre slowly roasting on an open fire!

I don't think Care2 members are likely to fall into the category of sex discriminators, liberal or otherwise, so I don't understand the rant of the contributor who alluded to this stance! If this charge were levelled at the UK it would be unfounded as we have a female Monarch and have had a female Prime Minister. The lady in question probably debarred herself from the Whitehouse by her unfeminine utterances, cruel mindset, self obsession, nepotism and greed driven lifestyle to name but a few of her noxiuos attributes. The sadest thing is, with a lttle therapy and readjustment she could have rejoined the human race and even become a nice person. Miracles do happen!

Here is the latest poop from Brad Blog

"Okay, I've now been able to get independent information from multiple sources that all of this precedes what are said to be possible federal indictments against Palin, concerning an embezzlement scandal related to the building of Palin's house and the Wasilla Sports Complex, built during her tenure as Mayor. Both structures, it is said, feature the "same windows, same wood, same products." Federal investigators have been looking into this for some time, and indictments could be imminent, according to the Alaska sources."

This story first appeared in the Village Voice during the campaign on October 8, 2008. If you were paying attention you knew she wasn't long for this political world back then. More astounding is the fact that Todd Palin originally told the corporate media and their cracker jack reporters that he built this 2 million dollar house in three months with some help from his friends, and no one except Barrett bothered to even question such an implausible assertion. If you think this is even plausible see the picrture of the house at Brad Blog!

I didn't understand any of Fdfdsfds B's statement other than we are sexist. As mos of us are women I doubt that is a serious accusation and, if it is meant to be, then he's obviously not on the same page as us! It's all about wildlife protection, corruption and double standards - in other words she's not popular! I hope that charges are made out against Palin if this can be proved and that forced to reimburse all money taken.

I am Canadian and not into politics at all. But I do want to say Hooray she is out of there! She has no respect for life, demonstrated by endorsing wolf slaughter, even to offer $100.00 for a cut off leg from the wolf you killed. She also not only would go for the Polar Bear being listed as endangered - she endorses hunting them. She also refused to recognize the Beluga Whale being endangered. Palin did endorse drilling, with her husband in the business. She oes not care about the environment and wildlife that would affected. Palin is evil - not just cruel, but evil. No surprise if she did swindle a house. As I have said so many time's: How would she feel to be hunted the way she pushed for the wolves to be gunned down? Now she is going to know a little bit about that. Hooray!

For those of you who did not see the Top Ten Reasons Palin Really REALLY Quit

No, this is not Dave Letterman but I'm sure that he'll have a new Top Ten List about Palin soon.

Here Are The Top Ten Reasons Palin Really REALLY Quit - And Add Yours
Okay, now that we've been nice for about 15 minutes (see below), please have a glass of virtual champagne as you enjoy the really real reasons why Palin quit being Governor today ~

Extra 2 reasons

12. Feel like the USA dodged a bullet with Palin?

11. Thought that she could get a ton of liberals to start believing in God once they saw their prayers answered.

Top Ten

10. No time for real shopping.

9. Knows this will help her get even bigger ratings when she appears on David Letterman.

8. This was always her plan - likes campaigning but not the other stuff.

7. Governing got in the way of her running schedule.

6. Piper told her to.

5. Wants to explore bi-curious feelings aroused by her association with Greta and John Coale.

4. Church of Scientology told her to. (this works in both serious and comedy catagories - see poll at left).

3. Thinks Tina Fey Would Actually Do A Better Job.

2. More pissed than we realized about having to take stimulus money.

1. Wants to join Blagojevitch and Sanford on new reality program - "Survivor - The Governor Edition"

ties with

1. Todd is now finally free to pursue his program of freeing Alaska from the US!

Nora, I don't think I've read it said any better than what you described here. I loathe her and all she stands for, there is nothing Christian, womanly, kind or courageous about her, she is, as was said earlier, evil. Its a great day for Alaska, their independance from stupidity and greed.

Blue Bunting (855)
Saturday July 4, 2009, 8:18 pm
Carrie, I didn't find the news about the indictments in the major new$ media; I found it online at the Brad Blog ... scandals usually hit "the net" before any of the [sic] journalists who act as "talking heads" get their "blast fax" talking points from the party headquarters ... LOL!

"The net" knew about $anford's Argentine "hike" before his staff could even try to regroup around the lie they told about the Appalachian trail.

Perhaps I spent too many years watching them "massage the news" ... and I know too many researchers who are online and much more astute about ferreting out the facts.

Palin like Margaret Thatcher is twisted, and represents constituencies of greed-the fact that they are women is irrelevant..It is the policies that matter, not gender, race, sexuality etc. Most working class women I knew hated Thatcher as she underfunded health and education, and redistributed money to "the haves".

Think I'll set my alarm so I can cath the early "returns" from the GOP Spinners, Whinners and especially the foxy "news".

Sooner or later the Trolls, and lurkers were bound to show themselves, and now they have. They have picked on the wrong crew to do battle with, as they have made the mistake of coming out of hiding prematurely and we know to watch for them.

Right on Blue and all other commentors. Good riddance to bad rubbish, I say. Collie girl said it all. she's one scary piece of work. How she ever was considered as vice-presidential material is beyond me. Her ethics and practices remind me of the good old days(yuck)when the first settlers figured that the land they were usurping was boundless(which it was then), ripe for rape and pillage and inhabited by soulless savages(which they weren't). That kind of demonic mentality is doomed to be exposed and cleansed(metaphorically speaking) for the betterment of man and nature.

Also, Kristen don't be too hard your mom. Palin takes to Web for hints of political future
By MARK THIESSEN, Associated Press Writer

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin didn't wait long to give some hint of what her political life might look like after she leaves office at the end of the month.

After staying out of the public eye for most of Saturday, a day after abruptly announcing she would soon give up her job as governor, Palin indicated on a social networking site that she would take on a larger, national role, citing a "higher calling" to unite the country along conservative lines.

"I am now looking ahead and how we can advance this country together with our values of less government intervention, greater energy independence, stronger national security, and much-needed fiscal restraint," the former Republican vice presidential candidate wrote in a posting on her Facebook page. Palin's spokeswoman, Meghan Stapleton, confirmed Palin wrote the entry.

Palin shocked even her closest friends on Friday when she announced she would resign July 26, more than a year before her first term ends. But the controversial hockey mom has not revealed many details of bigger plans and national agenda.

Palin instead cast herself as a victim and blasted the media, calling the response to her announcement "predictable" and out of touch.

"How sad that Washington and the media will never understand; it's about country," the statement said. "And though it's honorable for countless others to leave their positions for a higher calling and without finishing a term, of course we know by now, for some reason a different standard applies for the decisions I make."

The abruptness of her announcement and the mystery surrounding her plans have fed widespread speculation. But Palin attorney Thomas Van Flein on Saturday warned legal action may be taken against bloggers and publications that reprint what he calls fraudulent claims.

"To the extent several websites, most notably liberal Alaska blogger Shannyn Moore, are now claiming as 'fact' that Governor Palin resigned because she is 'under federal investigation' for embezzlement or other criminal wrongdoing, we will be exploring legal options this week to address such defamation," Van Flein said in a statement. "This is to provide notice to Ms. Moore, and those who re-publish the defamation, such as Huffington Post, MSNBC, the New York Times and The Washington Post, that the Palins will not allow them to propagate defamatory material without answering to this in a court of law."

He also told the Anchorage Daily News that Palin wasn't in any criminal legal jeopardy.

"I can say definitively I am aware of no criminal investigation whatsoever involving Sarah Palin. Zero," he said.

The FBI reiterated that claim Saturday, telling the Los Angeles Times for a story Sunday that the Federal Bureau of Investigation was not investigating Palin's activities as governor, a former mayor or in any other capacity.

"There is absolutely no truth to those rumors that we're investigating her or getting ready to indict her," Special Agent Eric Gonzalez, the bureau's Alaska spokesman, said.

Palin has kept a low profile since her sudden announcement Friday at a hastily called news conference at her home in suburban Wasilla, outside Anchorage. All of her public communication since then has been on the social networking sites Facebook and Twitter, or through statements released by her office.

At the same time, Palin informed her spokesman David Murrow early Saturday that someone using the name "exgovsarahpalin" on Twitter was spreading a false rumor that there was to be a party at her suburban home in Wasilla, outside Anchorage. Palin was afraid her home would be mobbed, and security was dispatched, Murrow said.

With only a few weeks before she steps down on July 26, and Alaska Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell takes her place, the governor spent the Fourth of July weekend in the state capital, Juneau, but was only spotted briefly on the sidelines of the city's parade.

She had been invited to ride in a convertible, as she did last year, but never told organizers whether she would attend.

Juneau parade director Jean Sztuk said officials drew up banners in case Palin showed and was willing to take part.

As the last of the parade's clowns and marching bands headed past her, Sztuk gave up on Palin. "What governor wants to be at the end of the parade?" she asked.

Her low-profile and vague Internet messages left mounting questions about her plans for the future shrouded in mystery. Will she lay the groundwork for a 2012 presidential bid? Will she find a high-profile place in the private sector, maybe on the speech circuit? Will she drop out of the limelight and focus on her five children?

Her constituents, for one, wanted to know, especially in Juneau, where she has struggled to win over residents.

"I think she owes it to Alaskans to tell us why," said state Sen. Dennis Egan, D-Juneau, the son of Alaska's first governor, Bill Egan.

Egan, hosting a 50th anniversary statehood ceremony, said he was disappointed Palin decided not to finish out her term, which was scheduled to end in 2010.

"It's sad she abandoned us at this critical time," said Egan, who was appointed by Palin to an open seat on the last day of the legislative session in April, after a protracted battle with Senate Democrats.

Palin's departure can't come soon enough for Laurel Carlton, a waitress at the Capital Cafe in the Baranof Hotel, where the city's political movers and shakers meet every morning before walking a few blocks to the Capitol.

"I think she has a game plan that's not Alaska, and hasn't been for awhile," Carlton said.

She noted Palin has a book deal, and seems headed for the national stage.

"If you're really not going to stay and do your job every day, you should leave anyway, and so the sooner the better so somebody can step in and actually do the job," Carlton said.

And as far as Carlton is concerned, Palin doesn't need to explain why she's leaving.

"We don't care. We just want her gone," she said.

Palin, whose popularity in Alaska has waned amid ongoing ethics investigations, gave many reasons for stepping down: She didn't want to be a lame-duck governor; she was tired of the tasteless jokes aimed at her five children, including her son Trig, who has Down syndrome; she felt she could do more in another, still-to-be-defined role.

Sen. John McCain didn't rule out a return to politics for his former running mate, saying Saturday he believes "she will continue to play an important leadership role in the Republican Party and our nation." He gave no other details.

Even Parnell, who plans to run for re-election after finishing out Palin's term, said he was shocked at first when he learned of his boss' decision.

"But then as she began to articulate her reasons, I began to understand better," he said. "And nobody — unless they've been in her position and understood what she has gone through and dealt with and who she is as a person — really understands."

Associated Press Writer Rachel D'Oro in Anchorage contributed to this report.

Palin: Politically Speaking, 'If I Die, I Die.'
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) ―

Sarah Palin says she's not a quitter, she's a fighter, but adds that, politically speaking, "if I die, I die. So be it."

Sporting fishing waders, a pony tail and a French manicure, Palin defended her decision to resign as Alaska governor in half a dozen interviews broadcast and published Tuesday morning. The former vice presidential candidate invited media outlets to Dillingham, an Alaska town of about 2,500, where she was fishing with her husband, Todd, and children.

Palin wouldn't rule out a 2012 presidential run, and told CNN that "all options are on the table" for her future.

"I don't know what doors will be open or closed by then," the Republican told Time magazine. "I was telling Todd today, I was saying, 'Man, I wish we could predict the next fish run so that we know when to be out on the water.' We can't predict the next fish run, much less what's going to happen in 2012."

But she told ABC's "Good Morning America" that she recognizes she might not have political staying power after her surprise resignation Friday, which came just as she had been expected to elevate her national profile ahead of a possible 2012 GOP presidential run.

"I said before ... 'You know, politically speaking, if I die, I die. So be it,'" she said.

"I'm not going to take the comfortable path. I'm going to take the right path for the state," she said of her resignation, which she characterized as a matter of progressing in an unconventional way.

"That caught people off guard. ... It's out of the box and unconventional. That's what we are as Alaskans and certainly how I am as a public servant."

Palin criticized President Barack Obama, a possible sign she's looking toward the 2012 presidential race.

"President Obama is growing government outrageously, and it's immoral and it's uneconomic, his plan that he tries to sell America," Palin told Time. "His plan to 'put America on the right track' economically, incurring the debt that our nation is incurring, trillions of dollars that we're passing on to our kids, expecting them to pay off for us, is immoral and doesn't even make economic sense."

The outgoing Alaska governor told the Anchorage Daily News she stepped down because ethics complaints against her and her squabble with lawmakers would have paralyzed the 18 months she had left in office.

"Especially when all these lawmakers are lining up for office," she said. "Their desire would be to clobber the administration left and right so that they can position themselves for office. I'm not going to put Alaskans through that."

She told the paper she believes her replacement, Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell, who will take office on July 26, will diffuse the controversy that surrounds her.

"With Sean in the governor's seat, it won't be the politics of personal destruction, I don't believe," Palin said.

She added she wasn't sure what her next step would be.

"I can't predict the next fish run much less what's going to happen in a few years," she told the Daily News. "I don't know what I'm going to do. I'm going to keep working hard for Alaska."

Palin has spent the past four days with her family, but she returned to work as Alaska governor Tuesday in a remote fishing village 30 miles north of the Arctic Circle.

Palin was scheduled to appear in Kotzebue to sign a bill designed to bring public safety officers to small towns. Kotzebue, a town of about 3,000 people, is 550 miles northwest of Anchorage and lies on a spit of sand at the end of a peninsula.

There has been speculation that she has some legal issue that is not yet known to the public. But her lawyer told The Associated Press on Monday that she has no legal problems whatsoever, and simply is tired of the hostile political climate, legal bills and other distractions.

"She is leaving now because I think she believes that she has become the issue, rightly or wrongly, with all these ethics complaints and with the issues involving the Legislature, the combativeness they've been demonstrating toward her since she returned from the campaign," Thomas Van Flein said.

"I think she believes it's in the best interest of the state to progress forward, for her to move on to other issues."

Palin has become a lightning rod for partisan politics in Alaska since her return from the 2008 presidential campaign after John McCain selected her as his running mate for the GOP ticket. She has racked up an estimated $500,000 in legal bills defending the flurry of ethics complaints, including one filed Monday that alleges she is violating ethics law by taking per diem payments when she stays in her Wasilla home instead of the governor's mansion in Juneau.

In addition, her relationship with Democrats in the state Senate — once among her staunchest allies — deteriorated in the last session.

At the state Capitol in Juneau, the "Time to Make a Difference" clock that counted the time left in Palin's term was taken down from the wall outside her office. And people from around the country called up her office to inquire about the situation, as did a few cruise ship tourists who made the trek to the Capitol.

The young woman at the desk outside Palin's office was busy answering phones.

"Yes, she is getting swamped with e-mails," the woman tells one caller. "Yes, they do get forwarded to the appropriate person."

"Unfortunately, we are having a back load of e-mails so it will take some to get a response," she tells another.

Where is she? Why is she stepping down? When is her last day? Why so soon?

The tour guide tried to politely answer the questions for the tourists when she could, but for the most part had no answers.

Sarah Palin's not just a quitter -- she's a professional quitter. And taxpayers get the tab

Carrie B (306)
Wednesday July 8, 2009, 9:01 pm
I think most of us agree that Palin is selfish, self serving, and self motivatted. Indeed, she is a professional quitter. Again I refer to her statement of answering to a "higher calling". She has learned that she must now answer for the statements she made as a VP candidate, and suffer all the consequences. Quite obviously she is unable to do that because of her lack of knowledge and intellegence, which was made all too obvious during her ill fated run for the White House. For the first time in her life, Palin has been asked to actually do something and she can not because she has no real expertise in governing, nor does she have the ability to learn from her mistakes. Palin has more emotional issues than most, and is trully dysfunctial. The fact that she listens to no one around her and follows her own crooked path is quite evident. Imagine all those who try unsuccessfully to communicate with her. Including her husband and children! She is an emotionally disturbed b---- on wheels!

I HATE to REHASH something but...Here is what I took away from the whole "palin as republican candidate for VP" FIASCO....
#1-From a "backwater,small town" setting
#2-Picked cuz she was "female and folksy"
#3-Was "pregnant??????"as a cover for her daughters 1st pregnancy?
#4-Complicated pregnancy?[I think it shows poor judgement if you KNOW you have a pregnancy with possible complications but you STILL do things to put THE PREGNANCY at risk]
#5-[and here is where it gets OUT OF THE REALM OF BELIEVABILITY]Her WATER BREAKS-she BOARDS A PLANE-[what AIRLINE is gonna ALLOW ANYONE-especially a gubmint figure-to FLY on their airline/plane-THINK OF THE LIABILITY-INSURANCE!!!!!!
#6-She GETS OFF THE PLANE[LADIES-she is in LABOR.Those of us who have given birth KNOW HOW THAT FEELS]-Drives the LONG WAY HOME-GIVES BIRTH-CUTS THE Birth Cord
No Birth cert....No Medical care....Knowing this was a "complicated pregnancy"......MAYBE "THINGS" could have turned out better if the baby had been given immediate and continued hospital care...
#8-Then SHE "DRAGS" the baby-who has "issues"-around with her to PUBLIC FUNCTIONS-Noisy-Germs-Chaos.....etc....But she sure TRIED to Sound "down home folksy".....While KEEPING THE CLOTHING that WE-THE PEOPLE Purchased with OUR TAX DOLLARS.....since she DID NOT have appropriate clothing of her own....Even as a SITTING GOVERNOR....
#9-All this while keeping US in the DARK about her "games" against people that she has a grudge in "the librarian","her policeman brother-in-law",and others.THIS IS PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE....
#10-Then the questions about her HOME and HOW it was built-And her LACK OF KNOWLEGE[she sees Siberia from her back porch-not RUSSIA].....Her non information about WORLD POLITICS.....

I agree with JIM P....totally....We MUST KEEP HER FROM ANY POWER POSITION....She is angry that she DID NOT GET HER WAY....And THIS MAKES HER MORE DANGEROUS.......
Remember the story about the SNAKE....The last line of the fable.....
After the SNAKE BITES the one who "took HER in".............

"What did you expect of me? I AM-AFTER All- A SNAKE!!!!

One of the most refreshingly honest moments of the 2008 campaign came when Peggy Noonan, a columnist and former Republican speechwriter, was caught on a live mike calling the choice of Sarah Palin to run on the Republican ticket "political bullshit." She smoothed over her harsh remarks in a subsequent column, saying she liked Palin even if she wasn't sure the choice would be successful. But now that Palin has resigned as Alaska Governor, Noonan apparently feels free to speak openly.

In television interviews she was out of her depth in a shallow pool. She was limited in her ability to explain and defend her positions, and sometimes in knowing them. She couldn't say what she read because she didn't read anything. She was utterly unconcerned by all this and seemed in fact rather proud of it: It was evidence of her authenticity. She experienced criticism as both partisan and cruel because she could see no truth in any of it. She wasn't thoughtful enough to know she wasn't thoughtful enough. Her presentation up to the end has been scattered, illogical, manipulative and self-referential to the point of self-reverence. "I'm not wired that way," "I'm not a quitter," "I'm standing up for our values." I'm, I'm, I'm.

In another age it might not have been terrible, but here and now it was actually rather horrifying.

Noonan goes on to refute all the conservative arguments in Palin's favor, from her supposed working-class credentials to the idea that she upsets the mainstream media.

Noonan speaks for the majority of the republican party. Palin has a VERY small following. That being in the deep south, very conservative Christian base. These people are not really Christian in their beliefs, only conservative, and by most accounts, out of the main stream. Palin, by of those who know her well is unstable. By those of us watch her on TV and listen to to her, she is not only unstable, but just plain stupid! To make matters worse, she is too stupid to even realize her stupidity. She thinks she is just fine and loved by ALL, when in fact most of us see her for the fraud she is and trully despise her. There are only a very few unenlightened and hateful people who beieve the Wasila village idiot has anything of substance to offer. She has chosen to abandon Alaska because thae has become too difficult for her to handle in light of her past actions. For some unknown unreason Palin, the idiot believes she is so loved by all that her flight from duty will somehow go unnoticed. STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES.

Willie Brown on Sarah Palin: 'the best political instincts I've ever seen'

"The pundits are wrong. Conventional wisdom is wrong. Sarah Palin's decision to step down as Alaska governor was a brilliant move.

Palin has some of the best political instincts I have ever seen. She became a pop-culture superstar overnight when John McCain made her his veep pick, and she's still second only to President Obama among politicians the public is interested in. Even in liberal San Francisco, she'd be front-page news if she ever came to town.

But that kind of celebrity comes at a high price. What a lot of people don't know is that Palin entered Alaska politics as a reformer attacking the corruption of the state's Republican establishment. As such, she was the darling of the Democrats - until she hooked up with McCain.

After the election, with Palin back home but positioning herself for a 2012 presidential run, it was clear she would catch nothing but ridicule from Alaska's Democrats. It was not going to be pretty.

If Palin wants to play on the national field, she has to be free to move around. She has to be able to drop into Indiana, Ohio or Tennessee and help Republican candidates raise money. She has to be available for radio and TV.

She has to be like Gavin Newsom, free to roam around the country, safe in the knowledge that things will pretty much take care of themselves back home.

Instead, Palin faced the prospect of being constantly pinned down in a state that is a day and a half away from the rest of America. She would have been totally isolated in every sense of the word.

Now she can study up on issues where she is lacking and become a full-time political celebrity.

The pundits call her a quitter, but let's be honest - the pundits never liked her to begin with. Better to take one hit for stepping down and move on than to stay in Alaska and die a death by a thousand cuts.

Governor or not, Palin is still the biggest star in the Republican galaxy. After all, who else have they got?"

I have to disagree with Willie Brown that palinsane is political savvy. It is true that she now has time and is free to travel to the lower 48 states. Maybe she will "learn" something about national & international politics but I seriously doubt that palinsane can "grasp" the finer details, much less the general demographics of many countries including the US.

She has a closed mind. She graduated with a journalism degree, yet she cannot write nor speak well, just gibberish.

Willie does make one valid point: Who else do the pukes have in their party...

Palin to appear at Calif. gala after resignation

(07-12) 16:11 PDT Los Angeles, CA (AP) --

Former vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin is slated to appear at a Republican gala in suburban Los Angeles next month as she moves to broaden her national influence after stepping down as Alaska governor.

Republican Women Federated of Simi Valley said in a statement Sunday that Palin is scheduled to attend the group's 50th anniversary gala at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library on Aug. 8.

The disclosure came on the same day that an interview published in The Washington Times revealed that Palin plans to write a book, build a right-of-center coalition and campaign for political candidates from coast to coast — even Democrats who share her views on limited government, national defense and energy independence.

The details were the first to emerge since the Alaska governor announced earlier this month that she plans to resign July 26, a decision that shocked even her closest friends.

Republican Women Federated spokeswoman Pat Saraceno said the invitation-only gala is closed to the media. Several hundred people are expected. The master of ceremonies for the event will be conservative radio talk-show host and filmmaker John Ziegler.

Reagan library spokeswoman Melissa Giller said the event will be held in a cavernous pavilion that houses the customized Boeing 707 jet Reagan used as president. The hilltop library is located about 40 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles.

Saraceno said Palin "embodies the values that we hold dear: faith, family, country first and service."

"We are honored to call her our friend and advocate," she said. "She is an amazing human being whose aspirations are simply to bring out the best in people."

The Alaska governor's office did not respond to e-mail or phone messages.

The appearance at the library that enshrines the legacy of the nation's 40th president is certain to stoke speculation about Palin's political ambitions beyond Alaska.

Sen. John McCain of Arizona, who led the 2008 Republican presidential ticket, said on NBC's "Meet the Press" Sunday that he is confident Palin will remain "a major factor" on the national scene even after she steps down as governor.

Earlier this year, Palin was offered a speaking role at an annual congressional fundraiser in Washington, which turned into a will-she-or-won't-she mystery about whether the Alaska governor would even appear. Organizers replaced Palin as the keynote speaker after she wavered over accepting the invitation, and Palin said she never confirmed that she would speak. The governor eventually appeared at the dinner but did not address the crowd.

Saraceno said she respected Palin's right to change her plans at any time. She said in an e-mail that correspondence with the governor's office has been "positive but cautious," but she added, "we know she will come."

Someone please get me a barf bag... The thought of palinsane coming to CA to "speak" gibberish... Hand me another "barf bag"...

Clear Channel Not Interested in Hiring Sarah Palin

Clear Channel Broadcasting fears she wouldn’t be able to "hold forth for three hours a day."

On Monday, Inside Radio reported that former governor Sarah Palin’s representatives “have been quietly testing the waters to see how much interest radio syndicators have for her.” While Palin isn’t committed to radio, she is reportedly open to it as “a possible next step.” But the interest in her might not be as great as some had speculated. According to Broadcasting & Cable, Clear Channel Broadcasting, the country’s biggest radio conglomerate, has already turned Palin down because of fears that she wouldn’t be able to “hold forth for three hours a day.”

SARAH PALIN - Some News Is So Big It Needs Its Own Page.

In this case, it is 5 pages with all kinds and lots of links, stories and so on about "palinsane" for the past half year...

in the Huffington Post. LINK:

Sarah Palin is the Republican candidate for Vice President to John McCain. Governor Palin is from Alaska, and at 44 is the mother of five kids and wife to husband Todd. Palin is the 11th governor of Alaska and the first woman to hold the office. John McCain picked Sarah Palin as his running mate on August 29, 2008. Sarah Palin is pro-life, against big government and is big on family values. But, especially after then-17-year-old daughter Bristol announced her pregnancy, websites sprung up criticizing Sarah Palin. There was also a great deal of criticism after Palin's Katie Couric interview.

This is a "fun" link to the palinsane stories which have cropped up over the past half year, more or less...

Being a conservative Republican, I was first thrilled when McCain announced Palin as his VP choice. However, the more I saw of Sarah I started to really question her qualifications. I had this gut feeling that the woman was hiding something. Since the election, I have been following her press releases and activities. During the past several months, she has been looking thinner and gaunt and I have wondered if she was ill or having some real issues. There is something behind her resignation. Good job, Brad.

Wow. I think Palin could have gotten her point across in about 3,000 less words. What exactly was all that about? "wasting millions of dollars" "working outside the government"? Is she getting a gig on The View? Watching her rambling excuses with my experience reading people, she was tap dancing. Something else is going on. And that part about 'I asked my children if they want me to do something outside of government to help little children everywhere', they said YES! That was so ridiculously unnatural. Can't wait for the truth about this. You don't just abandon your Governorship like that.... regardless of your ambitions. No way.
