The group's legislative update alert on August 12, 2009, included the "Prevention
and Deterrence of Crimes Against Children Act of 2009, which was introduced on July 31, 2009 by Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) to increase
criminal penalties for child pornography, child sex trafficking and prostitution, child rape and sex crimes, and sex tourism.

i can't tell you how sick this makes me -so palin really does represent a good bit of the the party -once again -i just can't express how ill at the thought of people thinking this way makes me -i only thought the molestors felt this way.

It would certainly be a very serious matter if someone was trivializing crimes against children, so I followed the links to get more info. I followed the link to the Huffington Post, which said nothing more than what is transcribed here. I followed Huffington's link to Media Matters, but this gives no specifics on the Heritage Foundation's positions either; it only vaguely implies that the HF has some kind of problem with the "Prevention and Deterrence of Crimes Against Children Act of 2009". There is no telling what provisions might have been attached to this saintly named bill; it's not like children had no protection prior to 2009. If someone could provide any details about how the Heritage Foundation is trivializing child rape, it would be informative.

I can only say, I have checked the Heritage Foundation on a number of occasions for different issues, and it would take a heck (being polite here)of a lot to get me to trust them and their overly senstive views on anything. But what do I know, as the old saying goes.

The Heritage Foundation should not have anything to do with any kind of legislative process if you believe in separation of church and state.
