McCain has missed 57 percent of Senate votes this session, being absent or voting "present" for 8 out of 10 children-related votes. McCain voted "yes" to increase the minimum wage; his only other vote was voting "no" on SCHIP reauthorization on 8-2-2007

Typical US political agitation vased on ad hominem attacks instead of dicussing political views and goals - Democrats or Republicans - same crap.
This anchient practice of electing a monarch instead of using proportional representation in a parliment baffles me.

Carl, I have wondered about this time electing a coalition - the Libertarian, the Green and the Constitution parties - to run the government. Couldn't be any worse and would probably be a lot better.

Republicans - I no longer a member - are derelict in duty. As Alan Keyes, whom I heard speak put it, we have a private duty to our fellow man, and if that duty is not fulfilled it will be publicly.

It is true Republicans have failed to protect the environment, teach people how to make money, respected human rights, the list goes on and on. I write ad naseum to the GOP and wonder what they do with my letters.

Of course, competition is good for America, even liberals acknowledge that, at least when it comes to politics. Putting the pressure on McCain et. al. to do better by threatening to elect Hillary is very effective!
