MediaMatters continues to hilariously needle dim-bulb Fox News anchor E.D. Hill for her obtuse "terrorist fist-jab" comments, using this amazing new technology called "a Google" to provide the material for a large image gallery
documenting just how mainstream the tradition of "fist-bumping" is in
America. The gallery includes many instances of "fist-bumping"
occurring as a part of baseball
- widely known as the American Sport That America Has Been Waiting To
Watch In America - as well as other settings, such as this image, in
which a father is clearly training his daughter in the ways of Hezbollah-style opposition to Israel.

Naturally, while all the recent attention to fist-bumping is a welcome respite from Veepstakes mania, it leads one to worry - is a fist bump backlash in the offing? When you watch people like Mike Easley offering up dap,
you can't help but wonder if the fist-bump is in danger of losing its
counter-cultural cachet. In a week's time, if we find ourself facing a
new reality in which fist-bumping is no longer cool, I think we'll look
back at this instance of Dianne Feinstein and Kay Bailey Hutchison getting their pound on at the definitive time of death.

I loved this story so much I posted it twice last week. I cannot believe anyone would find anything sinister in a moment between a husband and wife like this one. Give me a break!

P.S. Blue, we all should work together to ensure Senator Obama becomes the next president. Pls unblock me...

Thank you for getting the word out on this. I first saw it on the Daily Show yesterday. I cannot believe the straws fox news will grasp at to make Barack Obama look like a "terrorist." It is disgraceful. At least it didn't happen on a real news channel! It was like when another fox anchor, whose name I forget, said he could not picture Obama fitting in at an Applebee's salad bar. No one fits in at Applebee's salad bars- they don't exist!

All of this fuss over this bit of communicating body language between Obama & wife or anyone else is so damned silly!!!!!!

There are so many other far more important things to be concerned with like GLOBAL WARMING!!!!!!!!!

Anyone disagree????????

It is the stupidist, idiotic thing I have ever seen. Grow up Michele and Barak, you are not teenagers. Yeah right this is the kind of news the moronic masses like. The voters dont like substance or policy. That is why the media concentrates on things like this to distract the idiotic masses from the real issues. The fist bump is ridiculous and stupid, why can't the two hug like adults-grow up! You are running to lead the United States--we don't need another frat boy like Bush.

Media Matters is being much too generous to label as "obtuse" E. D. Hill's use of the word "terrorist" in relation to the Obamas. Obtuse means dull, insensitive, stupid, difficult to understand. Hill's words are manifestly understandable. It seems to me that they must be seen as calculated effort to sow word-images in the minds of Americans. Think of it: a professional TV person does not make a slip of the tongue on the order of saying "terrorist" when speaking of a presidential candidate.

This was no less intentional than Sean Hannity--another Fox Network entertainer-propagandist--keeping alive through a couple of news cycles the false story about the supposed use of the word "Whitey" by Michelle Obama. Fox and Hannity unconscionably claim it was just covering the story about the "rumor," a rumor they are pretty sure is false--there never was ANY evidence--because the rumor machine about the Obamas has been working overtime for some time now, yet they kept it alive.

Prepare yourselves America: What we have seen so far is just the warm-up to the Swiftboating of the Obamas. Those of us who understand this must keep struggling for truth to find its way into the civic forum. Otherwise, Fox, Hannity, and Rush Limbaugh will "rumor" us and slip-of-the-tongue us into another administration of barbarity and--I can use this word with verity now--obtuseness.

Blue....There is a list a half mile long of all the rumors on Obama & company.....And, remember there is a kernal of truth to every rumor floating around in Hollywood or the halls of Congress.........

And, in my heart of hearts all of it will come spilling out after the election......As Obama sits in the Oval Office doing exactly as Bush has done all these years we the American public have trying to get him out of office.

We put Bush there but are we dumb enough to fall for all that P.R. Madison Ave hype about Obama in light of all these so called half truth.

In reality they are truths.....Starting with the murder of the choir master at Trinity church. I believe his name was Donald Young.

Let us not forget for a moment the killing of Malcom X.......There is a conditioned state of thinking among blacks seeking power & will over throw anyone to get it. It doesn't matter wether it is turf warfare or the presidency those in too much of knowing will get squashed.

This whole campaign smacks of someone bending & twisting some arms to get Obama in which in turns means it will be rigged bigtime!!!!!!!!

Bette, That's an amazing catalog of assertions against Sen. Obama. I'll just list them without comment, starting with your aphorism:
Every rumor contains some truth.
As president, Obama will do exactly as Pres. Bush.
What we know about Sen. Obama is public relations hype.
The rumors and half-truths are actually truths.
Sen. Obama is implicated in two murders: a choir master and Malcolm X.
Blacks who seek power will overthrow and squash anyone in their way.
The election will be rigged in favor of Sen. Obama.

I can't resist a comment: Your assertions are breathtaking, and not only in their logic, but also in your sweeping conclusions and your racist statement. At least by your statements we can observe the usual nullity of unproven rumors (which you are helping to spread): Non-truths do NOT equal truths.

You know it is not smart to call people names.......If you love, admire, respect Obama go for it!!!!!!!

But, you know I'll not use the "R" word, it is passe, estremely judgemental and who died and left you in charge of what others think and believe?????????????

Bette, Hey.
Not sure what exactly you meant by calling names. I suppose you meant I called you one? I, in fact, did not label you a racist; that would be presumptuous of me and I am not looking to ever do so. I did say that your statement--that blacks who seek political office (power) are conditioned to be ruthless--is a racist statement. Perhaps I was being too harsh and should have labeled it a generalization (about a specific sub-set of people) that surely most people would dispute.

I never indicated any sentiments about Sen. Obama. My concern was for the spreading of rumors and fuzzy logic and blanket statements.

True, I am in charge of no one except myself and I seek nothing of the kind. In fact, it is immaterial to me whether I ever change anyone's view on anything. I do, though, like to reason about matters and I thought this was an open forum where we can discuss things civilly.

I will not label anyone racist--as you say, it is judgmental in the extreme--and no one knows another's heart. But your blacks-seeking-power view and other statements are here in an open forum for anyone to read and respond to.

It's difficult to counter someone's reasoning without seeming confrontational and even, as you indicated, supremely egotistical. This I do not want to do. So, let me say that I have been greatly stimulated by some of your previous postings that I have read and responded to. (I have responded to you previously, have I not? It's hard to keep up with.) They make me think about my own beliefs. But let me ask you: Do you give me permission to respond to your postings in the future? If you say no, then--I say sincerely--I will find something else to do.

Well darn!!!!!!

Let me say this.....I hope Tiger Woods beats the pants off of everyone playing golf. I admire the young man immensely.....

However......I despise Al Sharpton......Does this answer your thoughts on who or what you think I'm??????????????????????????????????

And....Al could take a few lessons from Tiger about life, not golf!!!!!!!
