Chelsea is only one-year-old, and sits with her back to the public. The emotionally dejected pit bull hides her beautiful face in the corner; who says dogs don't feel the pain of rejection? She has been described as extremely sweet.

So sad. One of the biggest things you can do for shelter dogs is take one home. But, if you can't, then the second biggest thing you can do is simply go volunteer time there to play with, pet and re-socialize the animals. Even in a no-kill shelter, after an animal has been there for a period of time without much more than food and vet care, they do give up and become even more unadoptable. Your taking them out, playing with them, and giving them good feelings can make ALL the difference!

if you do the research you will find that pits do not get adopted. well over a million of these dogs, possibly over 2 million get put down by shelters every year.
by the continue breeding of this unwanted animal we are creating a killing field. this dog does not belong in an advanced society, and certainly not around children.

ondine, I know just how you feel, I'm ready to to take in another dog also, and this little girl would be 'the one' if only... she was nearer to me (UK), she would have been good friends with my existing furry companion.
Hopefully... a good home and guardian will come forward now more people know about her.
~ Thank you Shaheen for sharing.
