This is very good news indeed. Unfortunately, as I was shopping for groceries the other day, I saw something which troubled me immensely as I walked by the fish section. In the showcase there was wild caught ocean shark placed for everyone to see. Of course it was skinned and flayed to make it more appetizing, but the truth of it all still rang out.

Tammy, it's rather frightening that the grocery store didn't label what kind of shark, as we all know that certain species have compromised populations. Where do you live?

All Shark Fishing should be banned now. Over 90% of Sharks are gone - due to the Oriental demand for Shark Fin Soup and Shark Fin Dishes. Even the largest and most gentle shark, the Whaleshark, which has NO teeth and only eats Plankton is being taken just for its Fins, with the body thrown back into the Sea. In many instances, the sharks are still alive when fins are cut off an the live animal is thown back to bleed to death and slowly die a horribley painful death. Every speacies of shark is in demand for its fins - if it has fins it is the victim of human destruction and poaching. The landing of the ENTIRE shark is not much of an improvement, because more shark fishing permits are issued, and more sharks caught in so-called "bycatch". Another way of getting around the issue of shark fishing. Poaching is rife! All over the world due to the high prices paid for Shark Fins. BAN SHARK FIN SOUP AND SHARK FOR FOOD. How can anyone consider eating Shark in any form when only 10% of the World's sharks are on this Planet??? PLEASE SEE THE DOCO FILM "SHARKWATER" AND LEARN WHAT IS HAPPENING TO SHARKS THE WORLD OVER. IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!!
