One lady appears in this video. She tells of her eviction, of police beating her children as the family was evicted in the middle of the night. It is a crime against humanity.

Please watch this video. Then please sign this petition housed on WE SIGN IT.

http://brazilhomelesscup.wesign.it/en

More people have been made homeless by the Brazilian government in the name of modernizing for the 2014 World Cup that were made homeless by the last four major hurricanes. For the people made homeless by the hurricanes, the world came to their aid. No one is offering help to this poor Brazilian families. (This statement about the amount of homelessness is made relative to all of the evictions in the cities that will be part of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil,)

Please sign the petition. It only needs 2,500 more signatures. Let's do something about the suffering of so many for this one time mega event.

I feel that if I do not do something, I am part of the problem. Let's be the change we want to see in the world in the very small way of signing this petition.

It's the same in Sweden, police harassment occurs regularly, yesterday, police shot dead an innocent man, again. He was mentally ill and needed care.
The difference between Brazil and Sweden is that in Brazil reacts people, here we keep quiet and let the police and the politicians carry out their harassment.

Love

This should be a crime against humanity.
When FIFA announced Brazil was hosting the 2014 FIFA tournament, I wondered how a country with such abject poverty could pull this off. Now I know. It's governing people don't give a rat's ass about the people, only the entertainment of the rich. Soccer may bea very loved sport in Brazil, but one can't eat soccer. One cannot live in a soccer ball. Priorities!

This is so heartless. How would they feel if they were thrown out in the streets with no where to go, and these poor citizens have children, too. This is just unfathomable, and should remind us how lucky we are to live in the USA. Those despots need to be kicked out and replaced with compassionate people who care about their citizens. There is just too much cruelty in the world. So depressing. I hope this can be resolved asap. Thanks for forwarding this, Betsy!

When do we ever get it in our head that all major sport events are just money making machines?
All the major sport occasions cost a fortune, and those events are just done for a week or two. Who is really profiting? The big 1% again.
The tax paying people are ending up having to pay for all the expenses. Later on, the buildings are just staying empty, and are not being used. But all the suffering, which is always affecting the poor people, is not worse the effort and money.
This is not only happening in Brazil. It happened in China, in Russia during the Olympics, and nobody cares.
We donít need major sport events which cost a fortune.
I love sports, but why donít we just play at home.
Is competition really so important in our lives that we have to always prove who is the best?

The same thing happened in Sochi for the Olympics. They were killing the stray animals to clean up the streets for the Olympics. Such inhumanity.
