America's promise to "Support the Troops" ends the moment they take off the uniform and try to make the transition to civilian life.

This is very sad and WRONG that all help, free medical, free dental, housing, food, any kind of assistance goes to low income and illegal aliens. Vets are the ones whom have fought for our rights and our country. They are the ones whom deserve freedom. They shouldn't have to seek help. It should be given to them. Shame on the government and on America. Veterans young and old deserve respect for giving their lives for us.

I once did an "A+" thesis about how the U.S. has historically treated our veterans with less than they deserve. ALL disadvantaged persons deserve our assistance, yet especially so for our veterans!!!

How can people not see the sickening hypocrisy of the draft-dodging armchair warriors that make up the Bush admin (and in others) who blather about patriotism and defending national security, and then sh*t on those who actually serve??

This is one of the crimes I would like to see on that list when the prosecutor for the PEOPLE finally goes to get the idiots who allowed this.

After all we have asked (and sometimes forcibly required) of our servicemen and women, they deserve better. We ask them to do a very dirty and ugly job on our behalf, pay them little, disrupt their family lives for years at a time, ask them to risk their health and lives, and then often discard them like yesterday's trash when the job is done.

I am a Vet but I was not given benefits promised to me too. I had honorable discharge too. 0% benefits for most of the Vets. Its been going on and still is! No change has taken place whatsoever! After men and women serve in military and their tour is up we do not receive anything but a kick up the ***! Very few receive anything.

We expect you to die for us but don't expect us to care what happens to you - such a great attitude our government has. This is indeed a war crime of a different color and should be treated as such.

I'm a disabled Vietnam Vet, and the basic care is good, once you get on lines. But, always keep in mind those republicans that stoped anything to do with supporting our troups back home, including the GI Bill. This is McCain, Bush, and the gang. I hope we don't forget
