This week has seen Time Warner Cable CEO Landel Hobbs do a rather poor job as the company's primary spokesman on the issue of metered billing, after the company announced last week they'd be expanding metered trials into four new cities later this year.

GREED! Sheer GREED!
I am glad I don't have them and if anyone does I would suggest getting rid of them!

It's pretty obvious that if the hard figures existed to prove the company's need they would be published. And there is no way that most customers would save money using the new model - if that were the case, the company would hardly choose to implement metered billing as they would LOSE money!

Time Warner has an absolute right to bill however they please - it's their company. And subscribers who don't like it can always vote their displeasure by cancelling their service. But don't try to insult our intelligence while concurrently picking our pocket by trying to convince us it's for our own good.

I do have Time Warner and so far I'm really satisfied with their rates. I actually got the same package Verizon offers and for less. I will keep my eyes open, as I always do, for any funny business and won't think twice about switching. Thanks so much Kit for sharing!

The problem from the get go with cable Internet is the restriction of bandwidth. The medium can support 100 megabytes per second. They will not open that up until other technologies catch up. (Look up planned obsolescence) The moaning and whining about heavy users or the need to meter use at this stage is a con. Not a dime of mine goes to any cable company until they come clean.
