This procedure, if it can be effectively industrialized, could allow many of today's petrochemical products, including plastics, to instead be made from biomass.

So glad to see another that enjoys Science Daily. I wonder if this could be used to rid the Congo of the aftermath from burning dung to make bricks?
The ? is what's the hold up, let's get 'er done!

Well Kit, I had to read the article several times. My boiling couldron of scientific terms just boiled over, first in perplexity, then just as I got the hang of the process, I forgot to check the heat.... Seriously though, very interesting, and I sure had to put my thinking cap on to understand all the technical terms, had to go and research some of them elsewhere for a more 'layman' explanation.

Great post! Thanks, Eureka

That is true Eureka and some times I forget that not everyone has a science back ground, but I am glad people read the article. Just one more way to begin to free ourselves from the dependence on oil and end the plastic use that helping to kill us all.

Every Monday my trash is set outside for municpal collection, and alongside my trash is the extra see-through PLASTIC bag, with all the items for recycling... What a contradiction!
