This is A.L.E.C. on-a-roll [state-2-state carbon copied and faxed so-called TeaParty legislation]. With Club for Growth [ie. the club grows...nothing else], Americans for Prosperity [for it's members only], the Federalist Society [teaching Judges how to rule on cue], et al greasing the wheels A.L.E.C. rolls on. This is NOT democracy in action...it is the systematic legislating and legalization of "crimes against the people." A depraved John Birch Society-so-called Libertarian Cato Creep Crowd hideously financed takeover. Ohhhh say can you see how the fanatics do reign. . . the profiteering emperors' dream.

Really getting tire of talking to a sea of butts because so many heads have been stuck in the sand for so long. The stench is revolting.

It's all so ridiculous. Can we imagine what would happen if every American would just use their handy dandy cell phones to call dailyand tell the usual suspects to knock it off. We could shut this nonsense down in notime. But oh no. . .we wouldn't want to that and miss the latest episodes of "dopes r us" or the "hair, make-up and wardrobes are the most important" infotainment reports. Meanwhile every decent societal construct our ancestors fought and died for is being ripped to shreds right in front of our faces and under our noses to be replaced by cheap trick facades and fake fronts propped up on Koch & Creeps petroleum polymer black top and astro-turf to make quick 'n fast bucks off of everything and anything that exists on planet earth and elsewhere when available [moon dust and astroid products CAN BE SOLD.]

Putting together a small binder with ALL contact info for Federal Agencies, Congress, Courts, Legislative Tracking, local and state elected officials, political groups, activist orgs, and personalized references takes a couple of hours at most. Build it as you go. i keep ConsumerUnion healthcare handouts with me. Do it while you still have constitutionally protected rights to communicate as a human beings. . .OR NOT. . .

Improvise. . .i go out on my front porch and or which ever black top lot i find myself in. . .and politely but firmly voice [w/good strong volume] to my college kids. . .THERE WILL BE NO STRAPPING OF PET CARRIERS TO MOVING VEHICLE ROOFS TO TRANSPORT ANIMALS DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS!! It gets genuine civic/ political conversations going everytime! Opens up the ed ops to tell people about A.L.E.C. et al

And everyone of those states who had the Tea Party take over in 2010 expected them to work on the economy which is the platform they all ran on. And THIS is all they have done instead, everywhere. Those "majorities" are going to vanish as fast as they appeared. After all, as George Bush couldn't say, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. The American people won't be fooled by the rhetoric come November, they know now you have to watch what these haters DO, not what they say because there is no relation between their promises and their actions.

As long as I live, I'll continue to fight for women's right to privacy and freedom in matters of reproduction! Neither the government nor any church has the right to interfere with my body and my decisions about it.

Actions like these are just ONE of the many reasons polls show less than half of us have "confidence" in religion. (See Kit's thread on that topic.)

You're right Kit, it is about consolidating and solidifying their plans to remove as many social safety nets as possible. They hide and pursue their greed agenda beneath inflammatory headers, and there are few that are more emotionally charged than abortion. People/Women/We are so tired of the right wing insinuating itself into our lives and our most personal decisions. It will come back to bite them in their seats (of office, ha!).

Tired, tired, tired......can't we focus on male health issues for awhile? (sorry male care2ers) you get my drift here. Sometimes, with all the focus on our female health issues I feel like we are indentured servants.As Pam W. said...I will continue to fight for what is right and women being able to manage their own health issues is what is right.We need to get rid of all of this whining about "poor babies" which is a piece of the emotionalism these people focus on.Who is anyone to tell me or any other women what to do?????? I will continue to promote freedom for health issues.Forever. I remember pre-1970's...............

OK...I have another issue here.Why can't abstinence only info be a piece of the info that is generated????like one of many choices???? I would really like to know how many politicians have never had sex outside of marriage? Another case of do as I say????..........again we come down to choice here.I want freedom of choice.Fascism scares the crap out of me

So depressing...this patriarchal society we seem to live in now---not even letting a woman testify before a Congressional committee hearing! Seems like the former Bush Regime put America on a fast-track backwards in time. Only wish I could give more to Planned Parenthood and NARAL, but my budget is firm. My entire adult life would be different if Roe V. Wade hadn't been made law in 1973, and I will defend it to my death, even though I'm past my child-bearing years. Yes, this does come down to women's HEALTH.
I like Wendy's idea about focusing on male health issues, too....as well as their "mental health"---men need to really come out and support birth control, etc....without it, many, many more men would be "reluctant dads" forced to pay child support. Don't they get it? It would really be to their own best, self-serving interest.
And, I wonder why we never hear from the wives of these politicians pushing these hateful, ignorant bills; do they all have enormous families, or maybe they just sleep in separate rooms. That would explain why they're all so small-minded, mean, and hateful.

Imagine a country where white men who are “falling down” are being encouraged to believe that they are falling because women and people of color are climbing over the top of them or dragging them down from the bottom. That way, they will blame women and people of color rather than the corporate and government policy. They will buy the myth of “reverse discrimination.” Never mind that white males hold most senior management positions and that continuing un-reversed discrimination is well documented.

These lawmakers know that making women remain pregnant not only takes away their power, but it also keeps them busy, in line, controlled, as well as a baking factory for their failing economy. The more people they have to rule over, the more they have to work and buy.

It is our bodies and it should be our choice whether we want to carry a pregnancy or not. I find the whole "War On Women" thing absolutely disgusting and I refuse to vote for anyone who is against abortion.
