This article posted from my friend Barbara K, thanks Barbara! The trial is complete and there are numerous links and many additional Internet sites one can view to verify the above information. I think it's horrifying to also note the information from the SPLC that armed militia groups (once considered a few nuts playing army in the woods) has grown by 755 percent, not just 755 more groups but by the percentage of 755.

30 years ago groups with the profile like the above were either white supremacist separatists or survivalists and never successfully got this close to official political legitimacy. I wholly agree with Sen Casey and share your concerns--and I can't help but wonder whether such groups call themselves militias for future constitutional protections to claim right to weaponry other citizens aren't permitted.

Thank you, Kit. If this doesn't scare the living daylights out of the readers, they must be sleeping. lol. I knew that Palin was involved in a deadly militia and said so every chance I got in the campaigns. To think that someone linked to such a deadly militia thinks she is Presidential material is scary enough. To think she has followers is even scarier. What is this country coming to? I saw the armed skinheads showing up at her "rallies" for McCain and how she actually took over, like she is the candidate. Her backers and the Tbaggers were carrying weapons right out in the open at the President's speeches and even at the WhiteHouse area. That was enough to let me know there was something rotten about this Alaskan.

Ty Kit. ...this is the type of collateral damage we get when profit margins are the baseline and primary focus of a civilization instead of respect for all life and who we are as a people as human beings. . .

And now gun sales are soaring of again course. . . just imagine how loud the outcry would be if the "Black Panthers" or Occupy protesters were arming up and issuing like-minded mantras. . .

PS. ... former Pres. Reagan is the figurehead who dog whistled these types to put and/or keep their ass hats on with superglue. . .and thus unwittingly issued mutants and ignorance their marching orders. . .

"Never forget that everything Hitler did in Germany was legal." ―Martin Luther King, Jr. ... the above is just an assessment. . .but it can never be a deterrent to energizing and increasing harmonious vibrations. . .after all these wayward bunches are just collections of molecules run amok. . .as uncomfortable and painful as that may be. . .so some favorite antidotes. . .

The trouble is these "loons" are not insane, not but any medical diagnoses. They simply believe they are right and have the right to do damage for their cause. Another word for that is terrorist.

Right on, Kit. They are terrorists.

I think we have forgotten that the word applies to anyone or any group that wishes to achieve their goals by threats, plans or strategies to disrupt or inflict intentional damage on or toward any governmental entity.

Definition of Terrorism under U.S. Law

United States Law Code – the law that governs the entire country – contains a definition of terrorism embedded in its requirement that Annual Country reports on Terrorism be submitted by the Secretary of State to Congress every year. (From U.S. Code Title 22, Ch.38, Para. 2656f(d)

(d) Definitions
As used in this section—
(1) the term “international terrorism” means terrorism involving citizens or the territory of more than 1 country;
(2) the term “terrorism” means premeditated, politically motivated violence perpetrated against noncombatant targets by subnational groups or clandestine agents;
(3) the term “terrorist group” means any group, or which has significant subgroups which practice, international terrorism;
(4) the terms “territory” and “territory of the country” mean the land, waters, and airspace of the country; and
(5) the terms “terrorist sanctuary” and “sanctuary” mean an area in the territory of the country—
(A) that is used by a terrorist or terrorist organization—
(i) to carry out terrorist activities, including training, fundraising, financing, and recruitment; or
(ii) as a transit point; and
(B) the government of which expressly consents to, or with knowledge, allows, tolerates, or disregards such use of its territory and is not subject to a determination under—
(i) section 2405(j)(1)(A) of the Appendix to title 50;
(ii) section 2371 (a) of this title; or
(iii) section 2780 (d) of this title.

Seems pretty clear it fits Kit.

Another statute that might also prove relevant:
18 USC § 2381 - Treason

Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

Twenty seven years just does not seem to fit the intentions of this group. They are lucky it was not myself or they most certain would be serving much long sentences. Thanks for adding that relevant information J L.

Neither race, religion nor country of origin defines a terrorist, the deeds or intentions define them.

This is what happens in a country when the government thinks it is above the law then so do some of its citizens. Both are wrong. Lets start with both our government and the NRA and work down the line. Clean it up bust the criminals and GO SOLAR.

Scary indeed! The 26 year sentence should be life with no eleigibility for parole.

Not only that, just knowing that Palin has connections in all this militia crap is down right scary. Can you imagine what might happened if McCain won in 2008 instead of Mr Obama?

And yet on cop shows and movies the "terrorists" are always brown skinned people with Arabic names. White Xian terrorists do not exist in the media. But I don't believe in conspiracies...

Kit B. (276)

Some conspiracies as the one discussed in this article are real. These people did conspire to cause harm to others in full belief that their own ideas were superior to that of the United States, and her citizens.

Terrorist are as real now as at any point in history, these folks are terrorist in their thinking and might have been so in their actions, if not stopped in time.

Neither race, religion nor country of origin defines a terrorist, the deeds or intentions define them.
