With the dramatic, across-the-board sequestration scheduled to occur this week, the nation's leading economists have warned that President Obama and Congress must come to a compromise on the budget by Mar. 1, and then again by Apr. 1, and then-->HUMOR

Yup--Boehner and Cantor have led us to all time low founded in absurdity, which The Onion reveals so clearly.

“Based on the way the president and Congress deal with one another,” Kahn added, “in 2014, there will need to be 4,562 budget deals.” I love it! Thanks, Kit.

Good, funny article that points to one particular possibility: if the government can keep manufacturing crises of one kind or another, maybe they hope to wear all of us out to a point where we will comply with anything so long as we can go just a bit longer without another disaster.

Or Brian we finally just get so bored by each crisis that we no longer give a damn.

Thx Kit, good belly laugh! reminded me a little of my recent post (Federal Judge Rules Capitalism Unconstitutional)

“I just balanced the budget by throwing it away. Next problem, please,” said Obama.
The news hit Wall Street hard, as the Dow Jones Industrial average fell 11,891.93 points.

Good restorative and reassuring article. I will stay with my brand of madness. It is so much better than this insanity. Thanks.

And, in an interview, Mittens Romney blames the president for "NOT COOPERATING."

What a ridiculous system. This obviously isn't working, so scrap the damn thing and re-write it. As far as I am concerned it's another example of disaster economics. ie, 'let's create a crisis and then people will be prepared to swallow whatever emergency measures we put in place'
Hello Washington, I don't think the people are bying this crap any longer..

“And then 15 more years of talks if they are unable to come to some sort of compromise,” Case added. “I don’t see an agreement happening at all before the final Sept. 4, 2342 deadline.”

So, THIS is the way around the 22nd Amendment. I know the Shrub camp was thinking of ways in 2005, until they realized Bill Clinton could run against him. Then, the roof started caving in on him anyway. Well, Obama's gotta hang around till 2342. That should be interesting.

I'm sick of hearing about the money problems of over stuffed American's.

I think it's wrong to sell your children's souls for a little more of the money power thing. Of course, when they have an addiction worse than heroin......it's still wrong! especially when criminal means are used to get the dope.

And what about the children?

It's an inherited addiction.

I sure wish Paul Ryan and his ilk would read another book. How many times can you read 'Atlas Shrugged' anyway? Can somebody PLEASE send him an actual book on REAL economics please? You know, something like "Economics for Absolute Dumbshits" or "This Idiot Can Add 2 Plus 2 And Come Up With A Number That's Actually Real." You know--something simple.

The deficit was balanced in the Clinton era, until President Bush's war. And that brought about the recession. If I sound like I'm being simplistic, perhaps I am, but I'm simply stating facts.

It's nice to see someone get a chuckle out of it, though.
