Cayman Island bank - wiki images

This petition is written to ask Congress to end overseas tax loopholes for US Corporations in places like the Cayman Islands. We demand Congress stop letting big business off the hook on taxes while working class citizens are taxed beyond their means.

Petition Background

Putting an end to American corporations sending their money overseas will raise an estimated $590 billion dollars over the next decade. These are funds that do not have to come out of the middle class worker's pockets.

Please sign and share petition - thank you.

This will be an ENORMOUS battle....every rich Republican in the country will fight it ''tooth and nail.'' Remember Romney & all his offshore money? Multiply that by a few thousand millionaires & see how much resistence there is.

But....OF COURSE I signed it!

This sems like a very difficult task, but is unfair what they do, and just the rich ones got the privilege, is worth the try

I too agree with Pam. And we are all familiar with how the Repuklicons like to fight. This will be a dirty battle, but as Kit said, we do not stop trying. Noted, signed, twittered and google shared. I will sign any and every petition, make phone calls and whatever it takes to fight this. Thanks Kit.

We keep on trying, Tamara keep making phone calls, writing letters, signing petitions. We just keep fighting. Not much that is FAIR is happening any more. Let's not let this one slip by us.

I am sick of companies betreying those who built them and take over the taxes they dont pay. Corporations owe Americans their loyalty.

In my mind, either you're an American or you're not - and if you won't pay your fair share, you're not.

I too sign and re-sign these petitions.
But, I still can't help thinking....
If all these "mini" efforts could combine into one giant effort, would it not be more effective?
20 petions with 30,000 signatures or one petition with 600,000 ? Truly combined....millions ?
With that in mind let's not forget the "official" petition site.
The one actually linked to the Whitehouse. Apparently this has been so successful that they had to "up the ante" for requirements before a petition would actually be presented. Sooo, if what your looking for isn't there, start one and post links back to it. Could be the topic might even be on it's second or third etc. go round but in my opinion....the more the merrier !!!!!

Just a thought.

I do agree,Bev. Too many little groups getting little donations and a few signatures. One big groups could have a much stronger impact.

Signer #477.

Mitt Romney (as an example), while whining about "the 47% of Americans who don't pay taxes" . . . is hiding his money overseas, to avoid paying taxes . . . Meanwhile, Congress stubbornly stalls on raising the minimum wage, so that the part of the "47% of Americans who don't pay taxes" who don't pay taxes because they don't make enough money, will still not earn enough money to pay income taxes.

Minimum wage at $7.25 an hour means that for one hours work a person can buy 2 gallons of gasoline, or 1 gallon of milk and some cheap bread. Think about the insanity, then call those people in Congress and tell them to get off there backsides and raise the minimum wage, and close the tax loopholes. They may have some fooled but not those who understand even 4th grade math, there is no way to play this game of "financial Hawks". Where were they when we took on a war and lowered taxes...they were right where they are now.

Thanks for signing! We have system that is rigged and those who are in the receiving end of this don't want to be changing a thing, even if other die, they don't care, they have shown that much. But I'll keep signing and doing all I can.

Very glad to sign. Noted w/much thanks, Kit.
I've been signing other petitions and also sending letters. I'm sure a petition at would be helpful. I also think that even though it may seem that we're "scattered"....that more is better. One big petition, plus a few somewhat smaller....gets more messages through. Just my thoughts....
