Just admit you're selfish, and based on how little your beliefs mirror the actual teachings of Jesus, you might as well claim to worship Despicable Me.

I so love the way Maher gets to a point and really fleshes it out. I was not aware of these fake $10 bills but if I ever see one, you can bet somebody will get an earful.

Truly a society is judged by how they treat the most vulnerable and a church is judged by how little they judge and how much they help and serve those in need in their community.

Thanks for posting, Kit. I've shared in hopes that a fake christian with a fake $10 bill will watch and wake up.

the last couple of shows have had some great ending lectures including this one and the one about California.
Thanks Kit,for being open minded and intelligent enough to appreciate the hypocrisy these "tips" really are!

Bill Maher is awesome....wish he used a little less profanity though.....

Technically, "profanity" refers to the use of explicitly religious language, which he does not do. He uses obscenity (four-letter-word-bedroom) and scatology (four-letter-word-bathroom). And in view of the fact that angry people vote more, by me he can use as much as he wants. If it helps people get angry enough to go to the polls and vote Rethuglicans out, I am all for it.

The hypocritical Christians are not Christian at all. Their false piety and dishonesty exposes them for what they are--lying, judgmental, greedy, hateful creatures. Thank you for sharing; I missed this one.

Noted. Thanks for posting, Kit. I absolutely loved watching this! I didn't know about these bills either and find them and their intent repulsive.

As Joanne said, technically Bill Maher is rarely profane, but often peppers his speech with adult expressive language. I think it's more honest than avoiding words that so eloquently highlight the point. There is little doubt about he feels about a given issue.

I have no problem at all with Bill's fact, I appreciate his ability to express himself more fully since he's been on HBO.

Thanks Kit, Tipping isn't required in Australia..a decent wage is..have received tips (even now and quite sizable ones) and do a bit of tipping myself here and there. Your system just gives "these types" an invitation to behave in the manner they do...they would only be allowed to do it once in any business I owned/managed..the customer isn't always right..there is a code of behaviour for them as well. I personally have poured a jug of cold water into the lap of an overheated customer in front of his wife and family and explained "loudly" to do not put your hand up a waitress skirt...and when she has a tray full of drinks this could be the result. Then added an extra $50 to his bill..with a time is more valuable than your custom. They never came back but that table was never vacant so they weren't miss..these types are actually bad for business..if they get away with it...they brag to their friends and before all you have a place full of these assholes..good paying/behaving customers stay away

Sorry correction: and before you know it you'll have a place full of these assholes.

It doesn't sound as if the Christian right takes the back seat before being invited up front.

If you can speak openly: Thank a Liberal! lol, omfg Maher has been an absolute dread to the repukes and it has been sooooo enjoyable watching it! There has been a campaign going on for a couple years about "watch the money" to see what we all buy and beware of the items we purchase. Because what we buy, goes into who's pockets and that supports who's business and then turns around and pays off corrupt lawyers and politicians and media buy-outs. Well Ms. Kitty-Kat it has made an impact and they have gotten really sneaky into hiding more and buying more media to hide more and then the law makers are making more laws to hide more corruption, UGHHHH!! BUT!!! thanks to us out spoken liberals.. the never ending circles ( round and round we gooooo) LONG WINDED .. making this shorter ... my point here ... Have you been able to sit in any of the round table discussions?

dropping down.. would you like to? since you bring up daily kos, they have round table discussions on the site also, I hop on them, Maher gets on them, along with Warren Buffet, sometimes Fox news (then its really fun) please join in, i ask everyone to some in. Kos has them, Huffington post runs them most of the time. fun fun fun!

Since the issue of minimum wage is in the air and even getting a thumbs up by 58% of republicans polled, why not make this :

1) a minimum wage that will have a significant impact on workers and allow them to earn a living with ONE job
------If it had been increased as needed over the years it would be approximately $22.00 per hour.

2) tie it directly to Cost of living and inflation, no need for Congressional bickering

3) Make tipping a choice, have all restaurant workers paid no less than the minimum wage.

Yes, yes, whining and wringing of hands by corporations about how this would affect their profits - without workers you have no profits.

good idea, this is one discussion i would like to watch, as long as i have my fingers taped closed. i would be real bad at the people at that discussion -_- , they would be talking about taking away the " other benefits" to cover the costs of the wage increase and I would flip out... ugh.. WIC, Food Stamps, Unemployment, Medicare, Healthcare, (all those bad freebies and "social evil" things)

Good article, thanks Roxy. I looked up Ron Kind and could find nothing about his kidnapping, could it there is another person with a similar name? There was a Ron Roy aka the Kidnapping King.

I was being dramatic hon, Ron kind is a democrat from Wis that is AAA yes triple A rated NRA Backed and not normally outspoken about anything, so seeing him actually posting something about one of my causes, made me about fall out of my chair at 6am. I think the aliens must have kidnapped him, because where oh where is the "other Ron Kind"

I guess without being in bed with the NRA it must be tough to get elected in that state. Sorry, I'm moving as slowly as Care2 today - molasses in my brain.

My daughter was working as a server for $2.14 cents an hour, no help from the dead beat Father, no help from the State, so her job IS the way she needs to keep her life going for her child. You know working like the so called Leaders and others say, only the employer refused to give any of the employees full time hours.

She use to get things like an air freshener for the car, religious material, and never a tip included with them. And yes, she got the fake $10 bill, and it did exactly as he said, brought up her hopes of getting gas for her car that night and dashed it right to the ground.

One man saw her working extremely hard for someone's birthday party, a big table, they left the torn boxes and wrapping paper behind among the usual plates, cups so on and so forth. After having presented very expensive gifts to the birthday person, as she could see what was given while she cleared off and poured more drinks they left her $0.

The man who sat alone came up to my daughter and said, they didn't leave you a tip did they? She didn't want to answer him but he said, I can see it by the look in your face. He said here is the tip they should of given you and my tip is on the table, have a pleasant night. He said I use to own an eatery so I'm very aware of things in this way and he told her she had done a wonderful job as their server. He was a wonderful man to do that, but the servers shouldn't hope that someone nice is going to be there to do what someone else should of.

I think servers should be paid an hourly wage like other employers must pay their help and get out of this tip the server. People are cruel and thoughtless today, in the past they would not of embarrassed themselves but now it seems everything goes.....including good manners.

Absolutely love his new rules ~ he gets me fired up every week and this one really had me in a mini-fury. Oh the self righteous! The cold and callous ways these kind of religious nuts express their views is enough to get anyone fired up. Thanks Bill Maher for bringing it on and Kit for sharing.

The best education regarding human nature is to work in a restaurant. You'll find the best of the best people, and alternatively, sorry to say, the worst of the worst, and of course, the worst of the worst always have the most incredible lame excuses for why they're "losers" and -> they never see the truth in themselves.

It is a grounding experience for the rest of life's challenges.

Thanks, Kit!

Love Bill, we watch his show all the time, we need more people like him to speak out. I have not seen the fake bills around here either. I don't like people writing pompous things on the receipts either, some people can be so cruel.!!! Thanks, Kit for this one.

Oh Dandelion..what a terrible state of affairs..and how demeaning it all is for your daughter and others that are presented with these false tips or no tips at all by theses clients. They know full well that these are required to supplement the meager wage..many Australians travel to the US and know they must tip because of this situation.. and they don't have a problem with it.. If the Government can't or won't increase the basic should at least make it mandatory for those in industries such as this to receive a gratuity by each table they wait on.. the establishment should be made to add a % to the final bill before it is given to the customer.

I will NEVER forget the ending, LMAO!

And if I see one of those fake $10 bills, I'll find the perfect church to 'dispose' of it in.

Brilliant Bill Maher, and thank you Kit !

Dandelion, I understand all too well what your daughter endured...but it would take a wall of text for me to post that story. Thank you for sharing about the kind man...I have experienced that and it helps to make up for bad.
