Dumb legi$lator$ who voted them$elve$ a rai$e ... why do they hate American children so much that they won't give our kids health care but they'll give Bu$h all the money he wants for his illegal war$?

All That Money

It gets more expensive every year.

War funding, which averaged about $93 billion a year from 2003 through 2005, rose to $120 billion in 2006 and $171 billion in 2007 and President George W. Bush has asked for $193 billion in 2008, the nonpartisan office wrote.

Good thing we have those fiscally responsible Blue Dogs to...oh wait, never mind.

House conservatives uphold Bush’s SCHIP veto. Conservatives in the House blocked Congress from expanding children’s health insurance today. The House fell approximately 15 votes short of the needed 2/3 majority needed to override President Bush’s veto. Rep. Steve King (R-IA) called the SCHIP defeat a “victory” for “kids” and “taxpayers.” UPDATE: DemfromCT has more on the role of SCHIP in the ‘08 elections, and The Gavel has a sampling of newspaper editorials nationwide supporting the SCHIP bill. 1:10 pm | Comment (60)

Maybe now congress will get the message and pass a bill that is funded by a reliable source of revenue and that does not cover adults and children of people that can afford their own insurance.
