It's the best source of info - the student was there and saw this all.
I give you only info about what Sequani is. Read the article. Click the link.
Sequani Limited are a Contract Research Organisation (CRO) that test pharmaceutical drugs, chemical compounds and medical devices on animals.
Tests that are carried out at Sequani include acute toxicity tests, reproduction toxicology tests, carcinogenicity tests, mutagenicity tests and repeat dose toxicology tests.

Among the animal ‘test models‘ that Sequani imprison and experiment on are beagle dogs, rabbits, genetically stunted pigs known as ‘minipigs’, transgenic mice, chinese hamsters, rats and guinea pigs. These animals know no other life than that of which their captors have chosen for them, ‘a life of imprisonment, misery, suffering, fear and death’.

Behind the steel gates, CCTV cameras and ten foot high fences at Sequani, cruel and uneccessary experiments are carried out on animals. This place is shrouded in secrecy, except on occasion when it is possible to hear the dogs barking for their freedom near to the back of the complex where they are held.

For more info look at the site.

I read the god.....why is this !@#$ still going on!! The people are heartless that do this. Animals will never wear makeup or use perfume or creams. Why in this age are they still doing this!!

It would be great if this student had taken the cause further......contacting organizations that are against this sort of testing. It's unbelieveable that people do not think that animals feel........that there is no compassion in our world for those that suffer, day in and day out, at the hands of mankind...for the sake of deodorants and crap. MAKES ME SICK

As a result of the attention of members of the public, the company has sought legislative protection from government and now enjoys the maintenance of its contracts and business under section 145 of the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act, 2005 (SOCPA), sections of which (132-138) have been mis-applied in London by Metropolitan police authorities in the past and are now due to be repealed.

Section 145 of the act was recently used to prosecute and imprison Mr Sean Kirtley, an animal rights campaigner, for four and a half years for criticizing the company on a website. The trial lasted over 4 months at a cost of 4.5 million pounds and was prompted and prepared by the police authorities National Extremism Tactical Coordination Unit (NETCU). Thank you Joanna. Arresting activists is becoming an epidemic! Throwing people in jail for speaking their minds? Freedom is quickly disappearing. Who will they come for next? You? Me? You know WE are all conspirators! These "people" who work in these awful places, when they sleep at night,do you think they are haunted by the screams? I HOPE so!

Thanks for the tinyurl. I had tried to follow another link to here and was unable. Terrible story. Do the people who do these things truly not understand what brings people to the point of violent opposition, or do they just hope for sympathy from an ignorant electorate?

Harrowing reading.I can't understand why they would have allowed students to see such things - surely they can't be so indifferent to suffering that they believe it's normal and acceptable?

Stephanie is not only about AR activists - everything what is against governments is illegal - anti war demos, anti Bush, Climate Camp and so on - I think that because they are democratic chosen govs they treat activists like enemies of gov and public as well.

What about those who test on animals - they aren't better than Hitler and his fellows - they made a hell for the animals and they feel powerfull enough to decide whose life is rubbish...

It should be a crime to experiment on animals hopefully one day it will come untill then lets keep up the fight to see that it stops. If we stop making noise they will do more. The more noise we make and the more fuss we put up it will weaken them, we have to stand up to these people.

It's amazing that you posted this as I was going to read it out at the demo but stupidly left it in the bus. The demo wasn't strictly 'illegal' as the police had to give in when no-one would communicate with them and gave their 'permission' for it to go ahead but they wouldn't allow us near the lab. As you can see from the pics tho some of us did manage to make it there!!

I feel really sorry for the people whom work at this center. Imagine being so numb and non-caring as to be able to do this line of work to innocent animals whom do not have a choice. If I HAD to do this I would be sick in body, mind and soul and there is no way I could live with myself. I wonder what happens to these people after work, do they go home to their families or to an evening party with friends and say 'well today was rather slow at the office, I had to cruel kill a dozen animals before lunch and only poison and torture a few pigs and dogs in the afternoon'. It is sick to think that these animals are better off dying than living and undergoing the treatment at this center. Humanity should be ashamed of itself!

I firmly BELIEVE that anyone who would willingly commit this CRIME..would have to remove their heart before going to work each morning. NO person of right-mind would do this to a helpless animal!!!!!!!

Every time I read a story about animal testing and see the pain and the misery in the eyes of the animals, I am filled with disgust and hate in my human being. There is no animal as cruel as the human race!! The excuses the "researchers" are using to do all these ugly things is insane and sickening. I hope the day will come that this will be a bloody history of shame... But till then we have to fight, fight, fight!!

Petitions signed and action taken with the three links provided, and thank you very much Joanna. The people of the world must UNITE and we can stop these barbaric experimental acts. The colleges that many of us have gotten our degrees are some of the biggest participants in these acts. I remember in Biology, our professor answered the question of where all the dead infant pigs came from, that we had to participate in disecting....
He said they naturally aborted, after the slaughter of the mother, and this has been done for many years. I couldn't believe they purposely got these pigs pregnant, before slaughter to get tons of fetal pigs for disecting, in all the colleges, and I am sure some institutions use something other than fetal pigs.

I teared up, and I couldn't perform this disecting on the day of this assignment. It was a huge part of our grade. There were three of us in the group, all women. We were looking at each other..., of "who" was going to cut the pig open with the main slice. NO WAY, could I do it...., Dead or Not, this was so against every vibration in my body. I am thankful that I had an understanding professor, because when it came our groups turn to identify the organs and such that he would ask, I got only couple right, out of all the questions, because this was too traumatic for me. I couldn't go digging into this fetal pig to show him everything he was asking, and I got so disorientated, that he went on to the next group. He still gave me a good grade. However, it changed how I felt about so many things.

I have been fighting animal experiments, since that year of the dead piglets in a bucket of that horrid smelling fluid. The knowledge of animal experimentations on LIVE animals is very challenging to my own soul of control, and this live-method is not necessary when they have the technology to supply students or scientists for this learning WITHOUT using any living being.

Noted and thank you for the posting Joanna. Shame on the people responsible for this horrendous cruelty to the defenseless animals; they have lost their humanity and are a danger to society. We must keep exposing them to bring an end to this despicable practice.

I saw such a stupid things only on TV - using any animals at Biology lessons in college/high schools - it's madness and I hope it's past now.

In Poland at Universities, Medicine or Veterinary students are using animals for sure and some years ago when I was studying Biology we had one physiology lesson when a doctor said we needed to use dead frogs - but first we had to kill them!!! I was in shock as I thought that in XXI century nobody play the games!!! I refused to attend the cruel event saying "You are a doctor so I believe what you say and I don't need any proof, besides the all experiments had been described long ago very well." then she started to say something like "if you don't do that you don't get a note needed to take exam" etc. then I said "OK now we are studying animal physiology and we use a frog and what when we start with human physiology - will we catch one of them?" and I pointed at a group of children playing at a playground next to the Uni, then she was in shock and I left without waiting for her answer. Of course I pass animal physiology exam - professor was much more understanding. And a little bit later Universities started using InterNICHE program (International Network for Humane Education).

There are many websites with info about alternative methods in medicine and pharmacy - nowadays there is no point to torture animals!
And still so many people who think that testing on animals is nothing more than taking their blood and animal experimets are needed as they save people lives. It's a one big fucking bullshit!!

How awful for the student to see that, but not as awful as it is for the poor animals who are barbarically tortured all their lives! :(
It is totally unecessary to test on animals these days when there's lots of other alternatives that actually work for humans!

To work there would be a descent into madness each and every day. To check your soul at the door. Hell's fury to the people who pick up their pens and sign the contracts that create this hell but never have to hear the screams or smell the fear. May the very hounds of Hell snap them in half for they are truly the beasts. I've just had it with them. They don't listen to the screams of the animals nor the cries of the public. Unfortuanately all we have to fight with is the pocketbook and I HATE that I have to teach decency and compassion using the marketplace. I HATE THAT!!!!

If anyone wants them stopped you know what you have to do. Stop buying from them, stop buying the non vegan products, go vegan and tell as many others as you can and dont even think of giving up because thats what the scum want. They dont like people who care, they dont like people who have not been raised to be cold, thats how they carry on their exploitation of all lives in this world. They can only function if they have people who are devoid of kindness or empathy.

The olden times such as the tudor times had lots of people who were against vivisection/animal testing yet they were ignored because those people cared.

They dont want to hear your opinions they just want you to shut up. Thats how heartless they are. Tony Blair, Brown, Bush, David Camereon, and all the rest of them support the exploitation. Stop voting for them, stop believing in laws, stop believing in government because they governments and all the authoritarians are the very ones who started all this exploitation in the first place.

The world has been corrupted, the people were corrupted, but it will only end as soon as everyone stops believing in the system, the ones who made and run it know all too well.

I can only say, that those people that test on animals are putting bad Karma on themselves. And I hope they burn in hell.
Tell your friends, only buy cruelty free, complain at your shopping centre, you know the papers for feedback, tell them you don't want to see this cruelty in your supermarket. Educate the masses, SCREEEEEEAAAAAAMM loudly.
Remember squeak wheels get oil, SQUEAK!!
