Please network to help this young dog find a rescue organization which can help. His official "hold" is over on 5/24, after that time, he may be destroyed.

Please note: The shelter labeled Ponder as a pit mix, therefore he can go to OUT OF STATE 501c3 RESCUE ONLY PER SHELTER POLICY.

Where and how on earth did he get soooo many ticks? The poor animal must be suffering anemia because of this!

Noted !! Those ticks were not only numerous but looked to be BIG, indicating they had been on him for quite some time ! It's a wonder that he has actually survived - anemia is not the only problem, there is a high risk the poor thing will have canine piroplasmosis, which can be a killer, if not diagnosed and treated very quickly !! I do so hope he can be saved !!

Oh no, poor thing!! I've never seen so many tics!! What about the rescue that saved Freckles? They are in SC I believe and do wonders for dogs... Noah's Arks Rescue. There is also a rescue in NJ that travels to the South to rescue dogs - not sure if they would be able to make it in time to save him. I'm in NJ so I can find out more info...please keep us posted!!!

When my old cat was kidnapped by our local psychopath he escaped and returned home in a dreadful state - and one of the things he had acquired was more than fifty ticks overnight; on seeing this picture I howled with sympathy with the poor dog - that many ticks could kill him quite quickly, poor lamb! I pray someone gives him a good him, the poor darling!

Per Ruin Creek Animal Protection Society.....Ponder has rescue commitment & will be going on our ride to freedom next weekend! He will be moved out of the shelter once his hold is up & getting medical care with the donations sent for him. Thank you to everyone who rallied for Ponder! He asks that you PLEASE help his shelter friends who are still on death row, they deserve the same attention as Ponder. Help us save them too!
