Heartening story about the teenage Fontaine brothers, who heard two kittens crying for help while stuck in a sewer pipe. Not only did they save them, but they are keeping them as well.

I must say that if my son were alive and face with this situation, I am sure he would have done the same. I am so happy that there are people like the Fontaine brothers in the world.

This is a fantastic story!
I think we've all gotten so used
to a society where, if we hear the
words "teenager" and "kitten" in the
same sentence, it's because the former
has set the latter on fire.
God/Goddess Bless these boys, for saving
the lives of these little fur-babies,
and somewhat restoring my faith in adolescents.
Thanks, Cate, VERY much!
noted, w/a smile :)

I agree with all of you and again, especially Tim on this one.

I'm grateful to the boys for their act of kindness. A story that's not about animal abuse for a change and with a good ending too.

God Bless :)

They were meant for each other.
I have to admit, my kids, now young adults, would do the same!
Bless them all!

I'll bet they'll get a lot of dates too. That should teach animal abusers who the real studs are.

Seems like my generation is always talking about how "spoiled and self-centered" our younger generation is... I know of many "young 'un's" who are very caring, compassionate, and ACTIVISTS... but it seems like ya never hear anything anywhere about some of the WONDERFUL things our children and grandchildren are out there doiing. Thanks Cate, it was very heartwarming to read.

Noted. Love this story and am grateful for positive news about our young samaritans...they are out there but they often go unacknowledged by a larger audience. That's what you and other news contributors do for them and for us. To have a balanced perspective we have to read the seamier side of humanity but be every bit as aware of the admirable. Love does continue to fight "no love" all the way. Thank you, Cate for seeking it out.

This mother should be very proud. They did what the sewage man couldnt. Im also an arachnophobe, that was very brave!! Considering where they were found they could name them Norton and Carnie (honeymooners).

This is such a wonderful story. When all you read anymore is the CRUEL things people do to animals it is so refreshing and just lifts your spirit to read that 2 young boys did this.

What wonderful young men! A lot of other teens could learn a great deal from them. I hope there are more like them out there for the future generation of humans and animals alike. It does my heart great to hear when young people do something so unselfish and so loving.
