Fascinating but frightening report on how scientists are inching closer to developing an invisibility cloak. Tt's fun in Harry Potter, but as a military tool for the madmen running the world to hide impending attack vehicles or weapons? Scary..IMHO.

Here's a link to the Duke University-Imperial College, London collaboration:

Scientists create 'invisibility' cloak that bends microwaves

I think we would all live in unremitting terror if this technology is ever truly workable.

I think our Government is a lot more technologically advanced than we give them credit for. Just a theory.

Johnies-come-lately. George Bush and I have been talking with invisible people for a long time now. Segue into Dr Demento and "They're coming to take me away..."

Great idea...could we send one to Paris Hilton...then I won't have to see her ugly mug in every newpaper...and another to Victoria Beckam...oh this could be fun to eliminate all those so called celebs that clog up the arteries of Hello and Fox TV...any other suggestions?

Men and women will benefit from this " cloaking" device and the divorce rates well go sky high. lol. Imagine, you wife/husband, boy/girlfriend following you and you can't see them - a mild form of 1984... Better "watch" what you do... if this technology ever hits the stores.

We already know that the "government" is spying on us... Just another tool for them.

TY, Cate

I find this deeply troubling
and terribly disquieting, but
for no reason I can readily
put my finger on. Perhaps it's
the potential for abuse....a
burglar's or a rapist's dream-
come-true.
There are just some things humanity
should simply not mess into, and I'd
say this is one of them.
Thanks, Cate.
noted, w/a growing case
of the willies.

Well, I'm not a scientist but I do realize that this is completely possible and maybe not as impossible as we once thought it to be.

All invisibility is is the bending of light around an object as I understand it. Certain materials (probably mirrors) placed correctly could probably accomplish that. Though it probably wouldn't be easy to do and their would be limitations such as shadows still being visible. Under low light conditions, this wouldn't be much of a factor.

There would be other ways of detecting an "invisible" object. (i.e heat)

yipes, i agree with my good friend tim, this is something i see as a potential BIG problem... there are too many people that would use something like this for bad things...:(

sorry, but i have seen the way our society has become morally bankrupt in the past 30 or so years and it makes me very sad...:(

Noted. Egad, Cate! It is one thing to be treated as if you are invisible and quite another to actually be so...rearranging the furniture, so to speak, could result in some really scary physical and mental aberrations to say the least. On the other hand, we have all wanted to be that proverbial 'fly on the wall', present in places where we know we are not welcome and, perhaps, have no right to be. Thanks for another one of your great posts!

All the examples listed for this technology in the article sound like just another weapon of sorts to be used in warfare...Isn't amazing how much new technology time is spent on the same...meanwhile we can't find a way for teeth not to decay which would help all of us that can't afford dental care...or produce more clean drinking water, or have safe food in the stores....guess we know where our government's priorities are......

So now they,re opening the doors for criminals who can rob you without you knowing, people killing you without being seen, not to mention the crazies out there.Possibilities are endless.A bomb can be placed in plain site, and on and on.Think about it,they can possibly come up with this but not a cure for some of the life threatening diseases? Hmmmm?

I posted another story regarding this "new" technology a few weeks ago, which is another false-truth, as special ops and top scientists are releasing another "discovery" on technology and science, that they have been using themselves for decades. This is just another way to get billions of dollars in funding, annually, to keep building their StarWars projects.

They are doing this with Extraterrestrials or UFO funding NASA and those "committees" get of 40-70 billions dollars each year..., to....research for extraterrestrial life and UFOs. LOL...yeah right. They are already dealing with them.

Just like they already have this technology that they keep budgeting themselves to DISCOVER. It is all a deceiving shell game, because they WON'T tell us what that funding is really being spent on. BUT, they still want our tax dollars to fund it. So much of this they do....

Noted and thank you Cate.

Once they figure how to put a meter on it, for use worker bees to buy and make more profits..., we start to hear about it, and some years after more funding, then we get this technology. They started this with Free Energy over 100 years ago, and they never stopped this dark agenda.
