A major vulnerability in the Internet Domain Name System is exposing sensitive information to the not-so-tender mercies of hackers. A Russian physicist was able to hack the system in10 hours, and this flaw could impact email as well as web sites.

Here we go again - the Russian gangs, the teen hobby-hackers and now the Kaminsky hole. Three steps forward, two steps back seems to be the paradigm in techno-world.

The 'net is a miraculous thing that's surely
changed all our lives, but there are times when
it's a disaster waiting to happen. This would
have to be one of them. Let's see if they manage
to patch Mr.Kaminsky's hole before someone does
who-knows how many billions of dollars of damage.

Thanks, Cate!
No coffee for me, thanks,
but I'll always say yes to a cup of tea!

OMG - I pay all of my bills on the internet, do all my banking online - it's so convenient. I guess I have to start writing out my bills, and stop all of this. This sucks. Thanks Cate.

It's going to require a complete restructuring of the current system to provide the heightened security that is needed. Hopefully, it won't take really long to do this and the already shaky financial institutions will have to do this immediately to prevent further ruin.

I keep putting out a Dare! Challenge! to these hackers to actually use their skill for something good, like hacking the system to fix our government & the world! You, know, "No More Secrets"! But, I guess they are just a bunch of script kiddies that can't do anything but prey on us peons.

(if you don't hear from me, they got me, didn't like me calling them script kiddies, I guess)
