Health & Wellness  (tags: genetically-modified food, sugar, sugar beets, letter, food manufacturers )

Visit the site to sign a letter that will be sent to many American food manufacturers. People from any country can sign. Some of these coward companies are blocking the email, but many more go through. Tell US food giants we don't want GM food!

Sorry...evidently my computer now not only is on strike with its keyboard (STICKING KEYS, OR SPELLING ITS OWN VERSION OF A WORD**it has only been acting up since our daughter...moved out in July, and her dog...that has remained with us has taken to licking my keyboard when I am not home...that or the keyboard is tipping a few in misery and contempt*)...,now it is telling to *KMA* (KISS MY A**).....lol.
Or maybe it is knows that it is being replaced in the not too distant future and is getting revenge now....lol.
After many tries...it finally reached the petition....signed, sealed...delivered and forwarded to family....*S*
Thanks Cate!

Noted and signed. I am positively frightened by the idea of genetically modified food. There is no proof that it is safe in the long run, and I sure don't want food that has been 'soaked' with the new higher FDA approved amount of pesticide. The FDA is obviously in the pockets of the pesticide companies.

Hi Cate!

This is the second time I have tried to sign this petition. They don't seem to have a space for provinces of Canada, only states, so they reject my signature. Frustrating!

In any event, I forwarded your article to my friend who writes for the local papers re the GMO sugar beets and she was very grateful. She will be using it in her next article. Many thanks for the input! We will all have to somehow stop this disastrous meddling in our food products.

So VERY noted & signed!
I'm against any GM products, having worked in agriculture.
Back in the early 80's I was employed by an agricultural research company which was looking into modifying seeds by mutating them with chemicals. We were instructed that the chemical being used was a known carcinogen and we were warned not to allow any to touch our skin or clothing. I must say it was not an experience I would repeat, because of the chance of human error.
Knowing what I now know, I would not participate in this research; but at the time I was a single parent trying to make ends meet and had little choice.
IMO, there has not been enough knowledge garnered about GM seeds and their effects on Nature, nor is there enough knowledge about the effects of consumption by humans and animals.
I have no taste for chemical waste, don't modify my food!

The big agri-businesses are sure getting greedy! In fact, Monsanto will not let the farmers use last year's leftover seeds, they are insisting they use the GMO seeds, and if they don't abide by their rule, they lose their subsidy!

Borscht is one of the best remedies my grandmother had for detoxing the liver ... it still works ... of course, one has to shop at a farmers market or find a good Ukrainian Church nearby where the ladies provide "home cooked" meals from organic gardens
