Honey is an excellent way to stay healthy inside and out. Honey and all of the bee products have been used in cosmetics and in fact have been used to treat or alleviate many health problems. This therapy is called Apitherapy.
Many people are not aware of all these little creatures do for mankind and our planet. Some even feel that they are pests. For me it’s hard to think of them as insects. I guarantee that anyone who looks into all the details of the bee’s life cycle, productivity, intelligence, and communication will be fascinated. Is it possible to fall in love with an insect? Find out.

Here in Fla., Honeybees are active nearly year-round. The decline of these miraculous creatures is a harbinger of our disrespect toward the earth and its survival. Why do I say miraculous? They are easily the most important component in feeding the world. Colony Collapse Disorder is causing the sudden disappearance of honeybees at an alarming rate and beekeepers everywhere are feeling the loss, as well as farmers who depend on them to ensure the health of their harvest. Factory farms, the corporate transformation of true natural farms, have been the curse that decimates our honeybees. Using a chemical to coat seeds to stave off diseases, the chemical is killing not only predatory bugs but the bees too. After the varroa mites that have infected the blood of female bees in the recent past, the bees are weakened and made susceptible to ANY change in their environment. The introduction by Bayer, the chemical and pharmaceuticals giant, of Gaucho, a seedcoating chemical that has caused the death and disappearance of tens of millions of honeybees in over 22 states. Expecting them to stop the making of this chemical is unrealistic, considering the profits they make from it. And so, our honeybees die, the honey is made toxic from the chemical and the hives are rendered unusable thereafter. Bees will not come to hives that have been affected even after they are cleaned. It is a genuine world emergency. It almost feels like they are being murdered to me. For all their miraculous ways and the hugely beneficial gift to us in the form of honey, they can't overcome man's greed, indifference or disrespect toward nature.
