CARE2 IS RATED ''A"

What difference does it make! They are both working toward the same goal. What is the point of always pitting one against another. United we win, divided we fall.

SANDRA, THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST. IT IS A MATTER OF ETHICS.

This seems a fruitless exercise as these rating systems are effectively bought and paid for by the participants. For example in the UK we have a British Standards Institute which some regard as an impediment to quality preferring the German standards system as being more reliable and thus German cars are considered more desirable than their UK or other equivalent however unimaginative and mundane the German offering might be, it is considered better quality! I can only speak from my own experience of Change.org and Care2 and if an A rating is good I'm not sure of the criteria used to assess the organisation. Care2 rarely responds to requests or complaints if at all. Change.org on the other hand I have found to be helpful for the smallest request dealt with in less than a week.! Thus my take on targets, standards and the like is one of scepticism and cynical amusement tempered with disbelief. Applying artificial standards to known poor performers is a recipe for ridicule and it should be remembered that the likes of BP etc are A plus rated companies!

CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG. I DO NOT SEE CARE2 ASKING FOR DONATIONS. CHANGE.COM HAS DONATIONS THEY ARE LOOKING FOR. NO THIRD PARTY TO TAKE THE CASH. IF YOU ARE GOING TO DONATE TO A CAUSE, WHY WOULD ONE NOT GO DIRECTLY TO THE CHARITY.

Noted- thank you Collen for your concern.

I myself sign MANY petitions at Change.org, but have not bothered to set up an actual network of friends there...onlt to sign petitions.

There was no choice... you may have missed all the CARE2 drama, that petitions were SPAM, noone wanted the Action Alerts, and most complained they were "useless". Its getting a little better at Care2 lately. More people seem willing to sign, but I havent seen a petition with 1000's of signatures in a long time (which is SAD considering there are 12 million members here)

I personally am tired of the drama over petitions here. It doesnt help animals or the environment at all.

I go there, sign the petitions, and leave. I never give a nickle to anyone there- nor do I recall anyone ever having asked me for money
