Yes Henriette, I have heard the speech and I think its one of the most brilliant speeches I have ever heard. Its truly amazing and if people take the time to listen it will be a massive awakening, there is no way one will remain unchanged t after hearing it.

i feel such a failure not having reached the lofty goal of becoming vegan yet.
but i am trying my best..it's just hard to get a financial handle on buying two totally different types of food for two quite different want's in one household, and my lesser half is not giving an inch :-(

In the end, people eat chickens, or any animals, because they like the taste so much that they don't care about any of these considerations.

Thank you for posting this Jill. This topic - factory farming, battery caged hens, etc. is a huge cause for me as an activist. Go vegan. Poultry and eggs are some of the worst.

@Roger...and I cannot respect people that pass judgements such as yours on an individual or a whole big segmant of the population you don't even know.

You're not alone Ellen! My other half won't budge either. He sticks his head in the sand like everyone else. It's so infuriating!!!!! What he doesn't know won't upset him and he turns a blind eye. Maybe he's deluded himself into thinking steaks grow on trees and nothing dies for his supper? So needless to say I can't win either. GRRRR.
