Animal experimentation is abhorrent ethically and morally. It is also outdated and does not focus on the science of human disease. The revolutionary techniques now available are the way forward and don't rely on animal use in medical research. They address the real diseases and don't attempt to replicate models of other species. Prevention, Epidemiology, Autopsy, In Vitro, Phage Display, Microdosing, Microfluidic Chips, Computer Modelling, Genomics, Proteomics, Nanotechnology.

animals should have never been subjects for humans to fiddle with and mutilate their poor little bodies. because they are funded, it continues. how could a pocketful of money even compare to the torture these babies must undergo? i am horrified each time this topic is brought again to my attention. we must get the animals out of the labs. this has gone on way too long, and the results are totally inaccurate. animals ARE NOT humans. signed.

Signed, thanks. I'm so fed up with all these bloody awful experiments which are totally senseless, useless and most importantly CRUEL.I Think these labs that use animals need to contact Coimbra University in Portugal and enquire about their amazing technology which gets perfect results each time without ever using a single animal in their experiments!!! Now go give them a call.

I fail to understand why these researchers still use innocent animals for research, when our prisons are full to overflowing. Research results would be so much more accurate if they used Murderers instead of Monkeys, Rapists in place of Rats, Paedophiles rather than Pigs and so on. Plus it would help to cut down the worthless prison population and cut the costs to the tax payers as well as saving the health and lives of animals.

Animals should not be used in animal research Its appalling Alternatives should have been found by now and if not why not This is now the year 2013 not 1950 Its time all the laboratories were closed down and stop treating animals like vermin Because if man did not think he was so superior to animals they would not be treated like this Shame on you people that do this

Noted and "signed" with comment: "It is unecceptable to incarcerate, abuse and kill healthy primates and other animals in a desparate attempt to prolong human life regardless of its quality. Many people, including myself would rather have the right to refuse medical treatment or volunteer for testing. Social and economic assistance would help people more than endless new drugs."
